Maurits “Chronicler” Jan Meeusen, caster for the LCK English Broadcast, has announced he will be leaving the league at the end of the year.

Chronicler to leave the LCK at the end of the year

LCK Broadcast will lose Chronicler at the end of 2025

The announcement came directly from Chronicler himself, who posted through his X account. In the post, the Chronicler stated that the need to be closer to his friends and family was the main reason behind his departure.

“During these last five wonderful years, I’ve had the incredible honour of being a small part of the best esport in the World. I have, however, also missed funerals, weddings, and other big events of close friends and family, and it’s something I really want to change. My wife currently also lives and works in the Netherlands, which obviously doesn’t help (as all edaters know, long distance is the worst),” he explained.

While he didn’t state what his future plans will be, Chronicler mentioned he will be releasing a video or interview to explain his thoughts in more detail as his season comes to an end.

Chronicler’s career as a caster

Chronicler started his casting career back in 2019 and has since been regularly commentating LCK games since he joined the English broadcast. He has been a regular presence at international events, having cast big finals matches, including Worlds 2023 and the latest First Stand 2025 Grand Final.

On top of the LCK, Chronicler has shown his love for the Korean ecosystem by frequently casting LCK Challengers games, which he often does on his streams. When casting LCK games, Chronicler is usually joined by fellow Max “Atlus” Anderson, Brendan “Valdes” Valdes, and Wolf “Wolf” Schröder, as well as analyst Dan “Aux” Harrison and host Daniel “dGon” Gonzales.

LCK is looking for new talent on the Broadcast team

With Chronicler leaving, the LCK Global team has officially started the recruiting process for a new caster. Aside from the caster position, the Korean League is also looking for other production-side figures, including broadcast writers, translators, and production assistants. While Chronicler is leaving, this also means we will see new faces in the upcoming season to fill his role.
