This Monday, Sheep Esports confirmed that Bwipo will not be competing in the LFL Invitational with French Flair. A veteran-status rule—one that apparently no insider had noticed until the community pointed it out—prevents him from playing on a roster that already includes Adam and Targamas.
According to Article 3.1.5 of the rulebook: “An ERL starting lineup cannot include more than two Veteran Players at a time.”
A veteran is defined as “a player who has participated in more than 50% of eligible matches in a professional league (LEC, LCS, LPL, LCK, etc.) across at least three of the last five completed splits.”
This rule therefore already applies to the team’s top laner and support—who were understandably prioritized, having been part of the project from the start—making Bwipo the odd one out.
So basically, one of Adam/Bwipo/Targamas cannot play it seems lol https://t.co/WLDbblBxRM pic.twitter.com/dqDX7m8WLT

It’s an uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. The French league had already approved and officially announced the roster before Riot Games stepped in, reminded them of the rule, and ultimately forced French Flair to adjust their jungle plans.
But above all, it’s a major blow to French Flair’s ambitions. They lose an invaluable asset in Bwipo—both for his ability to elevate teammates through his encyclopedic understanding of the game, and for the credibility and legitimacy he brings when it comes to attracting international attention, whether from the community, other teams, or scrim partners. Someone with such a profile is, quite simply, irreplaceable for a team in their position.
Still, it seems French Flair intends to lean into their original vision by recruiting a jungler renowned by the international community—someone who can carry influence beyond the Francophone scene. While Theocacs appeared to be the obvious candidate to fill the vacant role, FF is currently holding tryouts. On Tuesday, NattyNatt, the streamer who recently reached rank 1 in Korea, was the first player tested for the position. Trayton confirmed on stream that the choice would likely be between Theocacs and NattyNatt, and that it would largely depend on the opinion of his players.
Even if Bwipo in LFL is no longer happening, the project’s momentum—sparked in large part by his initial involvement—appears to be paying off by attracting relevant talent. You can kill the man, not the idea.
