Here are the best TFT comps for the current patch 16.3b. We’ll list the most successful comps so far and explain a little more into details what some of the key aspects of each team composition are.

Best TFT comps for Set 16

  • Ionia Yunara
  • Demacia Garen Lux
  • Zaun Warwick
  • Piltover Seraphine
  • Shadow Isles
  • Yordle Veigar
  • Noxus Swain
  • Targon Aurelion Sol
  • Defender Aphelios
  • Void Kai’Sa

The recent changes to Patch 16.3 made hitting level 9 much harder due to the increased experience needed. Moreover, several five-cost champions were nerfed as well. In Patch 16.3b, Riot also looked to nerf down some of the overpowered team compositions, such as Targon Aurelion Sol. Overall, this patch revolves around playing four-cost champions and trying to 3-star them as quickly as possible. To achieve this, check out other players to make sure you’re not getting contested in-game.

Best TFT comp for beginners – Ionia Yunara

Ionia comps aren’t usually the strongest tft comp, but they do a great job in guaranteeing you a good top 4 finish. As the name suggests, Yunara is the main carry of this comp so you will need her three core items (Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Infinity Edge, and Titan’s Resolve) and then form a beefy front line so she can dish out all her damage.

Ionians are generally easy to contest, so make sure to check the lobbies. Early on, use characters like Jhin/Ahri/Xin Zhao to build up your economy and then quickly Fast 8 to get Yunara. If you want to win the lobbies, you’re likely going to need her 3* star. If you have leftover gold, consider also going level 9 to unlock stronger five-cost champions (Kindred, Shyvana).

Best Straightforward TFT Comp – Demacia Garen Lux

This is quite a straightforward team composition, and it’s a traditional front-to-back comp. You will need to get Garen as the main frontline and Lux as the main damage dealer. Get to level eight as quickly as possible and get both + Galio. Early on, use Sona and Jarvan as the item carriers for Lux and Garen. Positioning for Lux is key here: make sure she doesn’t get targeted early on and have your Garen get the needed resistances depending on the damage output by the entire lobby. If you somehow have good augments, you can also try to 3-star Sona and Jarvan before switching to Lux-Garen.

Most Versatile TFT Comp – Zaun Warwick/Ekko/Ziggs

The best thing about this comp is that you can have a good early-mid game if you’re able to get the right items and put them temporarily on Ekko. Once you get to level 8, roll to get Warwick and the other two 4-cost champions (Singed, Seraphine).

If the enemy team doesn’t have absurd burst damage, Warwick will be able to heal up most of the damage received and win your games. It doesn’t have the highest win rate when it comes to finishing first, but it’s a great team comp to default on, especially if you have good augments. You can also have Jinx as the secondary carry if you have plenty of leftover items.

High-place finish TFT Comp – Piltover Seraphine

Piltover comp is back and the main carry right now is Seraphine. Compared to the previous iteration that uses Caitlyn, you want to fast 8 here as well and upgrade your trio of 4-cost champions (Seraphine, Braum, Lissandra). Get a mix of AP items and tank items to split between backline and frontline. For this comp, getting the right modules is extremely important.

Consistent Top 4 TFT Comp – Shadow Isles

Shadow Isles can be played in mainly two different ways: Viego or Kalista. If you go for the former, you need to be able to get the Ruined King augment or it won’t be worth it. In most scenarios, Kalista will be your carry, with Seraphine/Thresh as the second carry in terms of damage output.

Compared to other comps, Shadow Isles is less likely to be contested, making it quite a strong comp to go for. The issue is that if you go for it, it’s generally bad to pivot away. Use Viego and Gwen to win or stabilize early and get Kalista as quickly as possible (usually around 3-6).  You can use both of them as item carriers for Kalista (Shojin, Last Whisper, Striker’s Flail/Infinity Edge). After that, build a bunch of tank items for your frontline (Loris, Braum). If you get Ornn early, use him so you can get extra artifacts to increase the comp’s power.
