When the Halo World Championship 2025 ends on October 26th, the curtain will draw on the Halo Infinite esports era. Sure, there will be some smaller tournaments still held, but the official circuit is on hiatus throughout 2026 as the wait continues for the next era of Halo esports. Whatever the future holds remains unknown, but there’s still one last event for players to write their names into history: the Halo World Championship 2025.

16 teams. $1,000,000 up for grabs. The chance to be the last-ever Halo Infinite champion at the top of the game. The stakes are enormous – here’s how we’re ranking all 16 teams at the Halo World Championship 2025.

Shopify Rebellion in a league of their own

Heading into the HCS Charlotte Major a few weeks ago, most agreed that Shopify Rebellion and OpTic Gaming were separated only by the small details at the pinnacle of Halo. But in the wake of that event, it’s clearer than ever that Shopify Rebellion are the best Halo team in the world right now.

They emerged as comfortable champions of the HCS Charlotte Major 2025, with very few able to put up a fight against the firepower of Cykul, LastShot, Royal2, and Frosty. It has only been a few weeks since, and it’s hard to imagine anyone has managed to close the gap in such a short space of time. The Halo World Championship 2025 feels like it’s Shopify Rebellion’s to lose – they’re top of my power rankings by a country mile at the moment.

OpTic and FaZe: the battle for second

In terms of contenders, it really feels as though only the likes of OpTic Gaming and FaZe Clan will be able to challenge Shopify Rebellion for the title at the Halo World Championship 2025. Even then, it feels like these two teams might just be in a battle for second place.

OpTic Gaming had a very rough HCS Charlotte Major, at least by their own lofty standards. Their 3rd-place finish is simply not the standard the Arlington Major winners have set for themselves, and it already feels as though Lqgend has one foot in Call of Duty. The Halo World Championship 2025 is the final opportunity for this team to prove their legend, but it’ll be a tough ask based on their last showing.

FaZe Clan performed above expectations last time out in Charlotte, and were ultimately demolished by a vastly superior Shopify Rebellion in the Grand Final. But with the last Halo Infinite event now here, the time for positive forward steps is over – it’s time to win. Their loss to Shopify Rebellion in Charlotte was comprehensive, and it’s difficult to see them getting the win. However, this is the Halo World Championship, so anything can happen. Expect to see them right up there, though.
