We’ve got one of our first new collabs for Fortnite Chapter 7. It’s a Fortnite Danny Phantom crossover. Coming to the Item Shop later this month. The collab has been mentioned in Fortnite leaks, but strangely the skins themselves got unceremoniously revealed by Epic. Hidden in a split second of their new skins this week video on social media. Doing it officially, instead of waiting for dataminers to dig out them out instead.
The Fortnite Danny Phantom skins are a fun new crossover for fans of the series. Although, they’re also interesting in adding another art style to the game. At this point, animated Fortnite skins are nothing new. However, we’ve had limited styles so far. We’ve gotten Matt Groening style cartoons more recently, which took a forced perspective approach to try and get around the 2/3 angle problem a lot of western animation has. With this new collab we have another style making it in.
This is how the new Fortnite Danny Phantom skins actually look in-game.
In this week’s update for the item shop, we’ve had a new Fortnite collab revealed. Two Danny phantom skins are arriving as part of Fortnite Chapter 7! This looks like a smaller collab, confined to the item shop instead of being wider reaching. However, it’s a property that few expected to pop up in Fortnite right now. These are the two skins that have been revealed, each has two styles for a transformation:

These are definitely the most obvious character inclusions. Usually, with something like this for an initial collab skin set can just be the start. We’ve seen way more waves for the more popular releases though. If there’s enough interest, we could see more Fortnite Danny Phantom skins down the line.
It also means Epic has figured out a way to display these characters in the game. A lot of cartoons are tied to a specific 2/3rds angle most of the time, meaning the character designs look a little off in the 3d space of Fortnite, where you rarely see them from that angle. The Simpsons and Futurama had a similar problem, with their overbites looking bizarre at Fortnite’s normal angles, so the skins have their heads at angles for a forced perspective that lines up with how they’re normally seen. It seems a workaround for this type of character has been found though.
Which opens the door for more Butch Hartman style animated characters in the future! Although, the Fairy Odd Parents cast might be a little short. Unless Epic uses mechs for them, which would make as much sense as half the mech skins they’ve done so far.

The Fortnite Danny Phantom skins were shown off in a video listing the new releases for this week’s Fortnite item shop. In between some of the skins we’ve been executing was two new releases.
We have a firm release date for when the Fortnite Danny Phantom skins will show up in-game! They’ll hit the item shop on December 5th!
Unlike most Fortnite collabs, Epic has given a very clear release date. Usually, we have a few weeks of build-up with leakers talking about a collab, then the skins get leaked through a Fortnite update, and then it’s a waiting game for them to actually show up. nicely, we’ve just got an actual countdown this time.
