In a surprising turn of events, powerhouse Chinese organization Xtreme Gaming has reassembled a star-studded roster filled with familiar faces just days before PGL Wallachia Season 3

Xtreme Gaming Runs It Back With Old Roster Days Before PGL Wallachia S3

Headlining the move is Ame’s return after a brief departure for Yakult’s Brothers before making a swift return. The “Uncrowned King” is accompanied by Xxs and XinQ, two veterans coming back from a wellness break from competitive Dota 2. Their return signals a renewed commitment from Xtreme Gaming to chase titles with battle-tested names rather than gamble with new blood.

Alongside the four returning players from Xtreme Gaming’s 2024 era, the team has also secured legendary coach xiao8, who will guide them through their second run as a roster. With his wealth of experience, xiao8 could turn Xtreme Gaming into a title-contending squad, which wasn’t the case last year.

According to the statement released on their official X account, the new Xtreme Gaming team composition includes:

  • Wang “Ame” Chunyu
  • Guo “Xm” Hongcheng
  • Lin “Xxs” Jing
  • Zhao “XinQ” Zixing
  • Li “Undyne” Zicheng
  • Zhang “xiao8” Ning (Coach)

The only change from their 2024 roster is Undyne, the team’s position five player that was retained from the previous iteration. The 21-year-old doesn’t have too much experience in Tier 1 play, having attended only two international events throughout his career, with the recent DreamLeague Season 25 being one of them.

The Xtreme Gaming organization also revealed that, due to the drastic adjustment of the lineup, the team will skip this year’s ESL One Raleigh tournament, which they qualified for. However, we will see the reformed squad in immediate effect for PGL Wallachia Season 3, which begins on March 8.

However, this roster move creates an awkward scenario for xiao8, who previously coached Team Tidebound, a stack consisting of NothingToSay, Faith_bian, and y`. With both Xtreme Gaming and Team Tidebound competing at PGL Wallachia S3, it’ll be very interesting to see whether xiao8 jumps ship immediately. I speculate he’ll be donning the Xtreme Gaming jersey for the event.
