Well, well, how quickly the winds can shift in Dota — with new squad PARIVISION receiving their first series loss in Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 24. Fellow Eastern European organization BetBoom Team handed them this defeat in absolutely brutal fashion, beating them two games to none in what was PARIVISION’s fourth series of this second group stage.

DreamLeague Season 24: BBT Hand PARIVISION First Series Loss

Game 1: The Alchemist Draft Runs Out of Steam

The first game of the series looked like it would be another walk in the park for PARIVISION, just as they have enjoyed running roughshod over their opponents in Group Stage 2 thus far. Their Alchemist-focused draft didn’t get off to a super hot start, but the midgame was when they broke things wide open against BetBoom Team. Things were starting to get really out of control at around the 20 minute mark, when PARIVISION found what seemed like every fight that they ever wanted on the map.

At 35 minutes into the game, they held a net worth lead of 20,000 gold, which made it look like there was just no way out for BetBoom Team at that point. But Pure and his mates made sure not to give up on this game. Pure in particular, playing as Gyrocopter, bought a Divine Rapier heading into the late game, which proved to be the turning point that allowed them to come back.

Unable to contend with the sheer damage output coming from Pure’s Divine Rapier, and stuck with a win condition that had passed them by (Alchemist), PARIVISION suddenly found themselves with their backs against the wall. Some stellar decision-making in teamfights allowed BetBoom Team to take down lane after lane of PARIVISION’s barracks, and eventually took down their rivals in what was a serious statement win for them.

Game 2: Kiyotaka Goes Nuclear

On the other hand, Game 2 was anything but smooth sailing for PARIVISION. Gleb “kiyotaka” Zyryanov, who managed to get his hands on Storm Spirit, decided that he would put his team on his back the minute the game started. His 14 minute Orchid Malevolence timing was just perfect against PARIVISION’s spell-reliant draft, allowing him to pick off hero after hero enroute to a 15-2 kill/death ratio.

This afforded the rest of his team the momentum they needed to just cruise to the series win. Paired with Matvey “MieRo” Vasyunin’s Beastmaster and his own highly impactful contributions, kiyotaka’s play was just dazzling throughout the second game. PARIVISION just stood no chance, and had to accept defeat for the first time in Group Stage 2.

Previously, we talked about how PARIVISION had been on fire at the halfway point of Group Stage 2, but their momentum has now been cut off by Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko and the rest of BetBoom Team. They are still within the top 2 spots in the group as of the aforementioned series, but have since fallen to second place behind BetBoom Team as a result.
