Renowned esports tournament operator BLAST just reconfirmed that BLAST Slam 4, the fourth edition of their ongoing professional Dota 2 tournament series, will indeed be heading to Singapore later this November. Although BLAST had already announced last year that one of their Dota events would be held in Singapore in 2025, they had not yet announced where exactly in the country the competition would take place.
That has been remedied as of today, thanks to an official post on BLAST’s website. BLAST Slam 4 will be held in the Singapore Indoor Stadium — the very same one that played host to The International back in 2022 (TI11). BLAST is calling this the BLAST Slam Arena Show, as it will be the first time that the event will take place inside an actual arena. Prior to this, BLAST Slam 1 through 3 were all held at the organizer’s studio in Belgrade, Serbia.
According to the announcement page, BLAST Slam 4 will feature much of the same things as the previous editions even with the fact that it will take place in a purpose-built stadium this time around. The tournament itself will award $1 million in total prize money just like before, but details on the exact format haven’t yet been disclosed by BLAST.
The format is likely to be the same as with BLAST Slam 3, and the other two that came before it: a best-of-one group stage that determines seeding for the single elimination King of the Hill playoff bracket. And while such a volatile format does cause its fair share of controversy, it is undeniably exciting — whether for better or worse.

It’s also likely that BLAST Slam 4 will feature 12 teams as usual, though BLAST made sure to say that the particulars on this front will be announced at a later date. This includes the exact teams that will play at the event, all of which are most likely to come via direct invite.
At any rate, the tournament will take place between November 4th and 9th, 2025 — though according to the announcement, it seems like only the final three days will actually be held in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This is actually mostly in line with what happened at TI11, where Valve and PGL held the group stage and most of the playoffs at SunTec (a multipurpose indoor venue), and only the last two days of the tournament in the stadium itself.
Whether or not this was a decision made by BLAST or just a consequence of the arena being booked from the 4th to the 8th is unknown.
This news comes on the same day as another major BLAST announcement — as the organizer revealed today that they are also opening an office in the United States this year. BLAST has been quite successful holding events for both Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 as of late, so their expansion plans aren’t a surprise at all.
The very same announcement also says that they’ll be expanding to India as part of their long-term intentions in the global esports market. There were no mentions of possibly doing the same in Southeast Asia where Singapore happens to be, but as someone who hails from the region, I would be more than happy to see them plant their roots here as well.
For now, though, it seems that they’ll be focusing on the American and Indian markets. India in particular has historically been big into Counter-Strike, though the cheating scandal involving Nikhil “forsaken” Kumawat at eXTREMESLAND 2018 set the region back competitively for years. The effects of this debacle are still felt to this very day, so it’s interesting that BLAST is trying to tap into this specific market.
