BLAST expands to the US

BLAST opens US office in New York City

The new office will serve as the North American hub and allow access to deliver more esports events and content across the region. Moreover, the company plans to deepen its collaborations with creators, streamers, and talent agencies to develop original content, live event appearances, streaming, and branded integrations, and further strengthen its portfolio of partnerships with U.S.-based companies and brands.

According to a release, the estimated market value in the U.S. is over $1.3 billion and has over $10 million prize pool across the tournaments held in the country. It will also host several Tier 1 esports events, including FNCS Pro-Am Los Angeles, BLAST.tv Austin Major, and RLCS Raleigh Major.

As part of the new office opening, Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer at BLAST, will be relocating from Copenhagen to New York City. Matlock will be overseeing the development of a dedicated local team and work closely with partners to improve its relationship in the market.

With this expansion, BLAST will now have its presence across three continents, having offices in Copenhagen (HQ), London, Berlin, and the U.S. It also plans to expand in India soon.

Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer of BLAST, commented on the announcement: “We’ve been deeply committed to the growth of esports in the U.S. for six years – hosting some of our most iconic live events here since 2019. Establishing a permanent hub here is a natural next step and also a powerful indicator of our long-term investment in the market. We have some incredible live events coming up across North America this year and are excited to continue to advocate this unmatched fandom and to work with national and local partners and brands, creating a positive impact everywhere we are. This move further adds to our global expansion efforts in 2025, with offices opening in India and the U.S. this year.”
