The PGL Wallachia is back for its third season, where 10 invited teams and 6 regional qualifiers winners will fight it out in Bucharest. After Valve did away with the DPC, PGL was one of the first companies to step up to the plate with a new series of Dota tournaments. The Wallachia definitely has the fanciest trophy in Dota and with three iterations of this tournament coming up in 2025 alone, this is going to be a staple of the pro Dota scene.

PGL Wallachia Season 3

Direct Invites

Life is always easier for those on top and the best Dota teams often have a bit of an easier ride. PGL has directly invited 8 of the best teams directly to the event so they don’t need to fight the good fight any longer than is necessary. In fact, studying the teams fighting through the qualifiers can give them a competitive advantage. The more data you have, the better!

PGL announced all directly invited teams for PGL Wallachia on January 9th and there are no real surprises on this list. We have three teams from western Europe, 2 from China, 1 from MENA, 1 from South America and 1 from eastern Europe. Here they are:

PGL Wallachia Regional Qualifiers

The regional qualifiers for this entire tournament are almost complete. Team Tidebound from China was officially the first to qualify after taking down Yakult’s Brothers in a clean 3-0 from the Bo5 grand finals but now there’s a whole bunch more confirmed to be attending.

Team Region
AVULUS Western Europe
TBD Western Europe
Navi Eastern Europe
TBD Eastern Europe
Team Tidebound     China
TBD Southeast Asia
Wildcard North America
TBD South America

We’ll have a full roster of teams qualified to take part come the end of January 15th. For now, there’s a whole lot of Dota going on but it’s not super easy to find where to watch. I’ve been watching English streams from Bkop and Nomad to keep up. Meanwhile, PGL will be taking over the production from the official tournament start.
