From July 15th – 20th, the FISSURE Playground 1 CS2 tournament will kick off, bringing 16 teams together to fight for their share of a huge $1,000,000 prize pool. Separated into an online and LAN portion, FISSURE Playground 1 is not to be missed when it begins later this year.
FISSURE Playground 1 Tournament Format
FISSURE Playground 1 doesn’t look to reinvent the wheel with its format, sticking to tried and tested double-elimination Groups and single-elimination Playoffs. The Group Stage will be played entirely online, before moving to a LAN environment in Belgrade, Serbia, for the Playoffs.
- Group Stage: All 16 teams take part in four double-elimination Groups. Four teams to a Group. The top two teams from each Group then progress to the Playoffs after all matches are played. All matches are best-of-three.
- Playoffs: Eight teams play out a single-elimination Playoffs bracket, beginning at the Quarter-Finals. Both Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals are best-of-three, while the Grand Final is best-of-five.
All FISSURE Playground 1 Teams
FISSURE has yet to announce any of the teams attending FISSURE Playground 1. Invites for the event will all be made via the Global VRS, based on the standings on May 25th. After this, we should have some idea of the teams accepting their invitation to the event. When the teams are known, we’ll keep this page updated with the correct information.
FISSURE Playground 1 Prize Pool Distribution
The prize pool for FISSURE Playground 1 stands at an eye-watering $1,000,000, spread very fairly across all placements. Total Player Share stands at $450,000 for this event, with the Club Share slightly higher at $550,000. Such a lucrative prize pool could prove essential in securing the top team’s presence in Belgrade. It’s not hard to imagine why even a Quarter-Finals finish being worth $50,000 would be an attractive prospect to many of the best CS2 teams in the scene right now.
