BLAST Bounty Spring is the first tournament in the new schedule of Counter-Strike tournaments by BLAST. It has a bit of an unusual format and with only 8 slots available for 32 teams taking part in the closed qualifiers, there’s everything to play for.
The unique part of this tournament comes from what BLAST refer to as a “dynamic” prize pool. Sure, there’s half a million dollars to play for but the seeding is everything. Here’s how it works.

There will be a bounty prize pool, which will be distributed among the top 8 teams that make it to the quarterfinal LAN event based upon their seeding from the closed qualifiers. So the better the seeding, the bigger the target on their backs. What’s more, the lowest seeded teams will be able to select their opponents in the first round of competition.
Once that first round is complete, the teams will be reseeded for the second round, meaning their prize allocation could change based on how well they’ve played. And for some extra 3 chilli pepper on the menu spice, teams will be able to wager their prize if they’re feeling extra confident about their opponent. So the stakes will be high from game 1 all the way through to the grand finals.
Have you got all that? Me neither but rest assured we’ll be there to figure it out with you along the way.
There will be 32 teams taking part in the first part of the tournament.

32 teams will take part in the closed qualifiers but only 8 will be able to compete in the LAN event in Copenhagen.
The LAN event will be held at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen.
After the qualifiers, the first round will be a BO3 single elimination bracket before reaching a BO5 grand finals.
The 1-4 seeds will have a bounty of $60,000. 5-8 will get $30,000. 9-12 will get $20,000. 13-16 will get $15,000. 17-32 will get $0.
The frequent flyer tokens serve as minimum a guarantee with a revenue kicker, which is essentially an incentive to take part in multiple BLAST tournaments but they won't be able to earn a single token until they've played in 4 tournaments.
In a world with so many Counter-Strike tournaments, the participation fee is an incentive to keep the top orgs interested. The fee is paid out on top of winning based on where a team places in the tournament. Those in the top 8 will receive $40,000 each whereas those in the bottom half of the pack will receive $7,500 each.
Yes! Imperial Female will be one of the 32 teams taking part in the first part of BLAST Bounty Spring. They are the only female roster to compete.
