Who will Twistzz replace on FaZe Clan?

So FaZe has just brought back Twistzz from Liquid, and it has thrown the whole community into disarray because a lot of things feel off. It was a totally unexpected move, for first, it was Temperr himself who said it didn’t make sense. And now, not only have they signed Twistzz, but just 23 days after signing jcobbb?

Who will Twistzz replace on FaZe Clan?

What’s more surprising is that they have not even announced who he is going to unseat. That is why we are going to look at the potential candidates whose tenure with FaZe may be on the chopping block, because right now, it feels like the fox is in the henhouse, and no one knows who’s going to get pecked first.

The likeliest candidate: jcobbb

The obvious candidate is jcobbb, whose signing had already come as a surprise at the time. jcobbb blacking out his Twitter profile picture does add more fuel to that fire. Twistzz fits jcobbb’s role very neatly, and should be the most obvious pick when it comes to who he will be replacing. But if that happens, it’s going to be very disheartening, at least to me. Sure, jcobbb’s rating hasn’t been through the roof, as he averages just over a 1.03, but it has hardly been three weeks for the young star in the new jersey. Barely enough time to find his footing, let alone steady the ship.

That’s not nearly enough to measure his mettle, especially when coming from the lower echelons. Moreover, he has gotten a few star roles on the CT side, but his T-side still has him stuck with a lot of entrying. If FaZe wanted to test jcobbb and then sign Twistzz, I don’t think 23 days is enough to reach a verdict. Because even if you look at Twistzz, his recent form hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire. It feels like FaZe has jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Hard to believe that FaZe made a change, added a hot prospect, and in just three weeks pulled the rug out from under him. Most likely it will be the case, yes, but to me it tolls like a funeral bell in the wind.

Or is it someone else?

The other main candidate who might be parting ways with FaZe could be rain. The Norwegian has been with FaZe the longest, and has been in a cracker of form recently. There is no reason for FaZe to replace him, unless rain himself wants to step aside. The only two reasons for that could be that he is a 31-year-old and may want to be with his family, or simply taking a well-earned break. We have seen former FaZe members do that before, and well, this could be another case.

I think this would better explain the suddenness of the move, especially considering they made a roster change just three weeks ago. Maybe also because FaZe has not yet announced who Twistzz is going to replace, but that could also be due to them currently playing FISSURE Playground 2. It all reeks of the cart before the horse, decisions made in a flash.

Now, coming to the rest. Can it be karrigan who is getting the boot? Highly unlikely, unless once again, it’s karrigan who has been taking the heat and needs a breather. I could see Twistzz coming in and filling in as the IGL, since it’s the next best choice with no real IGLs available in the market before the next Major. And frozen? Well, not unless a stronger team has poached him.
