Vitality and FURIA have set up a clash in the Grand Final of IEM Chengdu 2025, after winning their Semi-Final clashes in rather different fashion. For both teams, this will represent a third Final of the season, although it’s FURIA who maintain a 100% record at the finish line so far.

But how did Vitality and FURIA secure their Grand Final berths at IEM Chengdu? Let’s talk about it.

So Vitality have made it to the Final of IEM Chengdu 2025 over MOUZ, but it really shouldn’t have been this way. The series kicked off on Nuke, and it looked like we were in for a quick map when MOUZ romped to a 12:4 lead. But MOUZ know as well as anyone the danger Vitality can pose, but they were unable to heed their own warnings. Vitality mounted an impressive comeback, and were able to win the map 16:13 in the end.

That only makes the fact that MOUZ then won map two over Vitality all the more painful. This series could (and perhaps, should) have been over in just two maps, yet MOUZ were left fighting on the decider to stay alive at IEM Chengdu 2025. In the end, the series ended just as they so often do between these two teams: Vitality win in the end. While Inferno was close at 13:10, MOUZ were powerless in the face of dominant showings from ropz and ZywOo – when those two are on form, there’s little anyone can do about it.

FURIA continue to show class in win over Falcons

It just gets better and better for FURIA, doesn’t it? After existing on the Counter-Strike periphery for so long, few saw them becoming one of the most competitive teams in the world this year, but it’s fair to say they’re in contention for every trophy at the moment. Case in point, a third consecutive win over Falcons to lock in the IEM Chengdu 2025 Grand Final.

Impressively, they only needed two maps to take down zonic’s team, too. A CT-side masterclass on Inferno set them up perfectly for a 13:5 victory to start out, while a much closer Mirage saw FURIA topple Falcons 13:11 as they rocked the big-money roster. Who needs star players when you have FalleN outfragging m0NESY in 2025? Once again, you could point to molodoy as the X-factor for FURIA, but that would doing a great disservice to the impact yuurih had in this series. When he remains consistent, FURIA win – it’s that simple.

FURIA now take on Vitality in the Grand Final of IEM Chengdu 2025, facing off for the first time since October 10th at ESL Pro League Season 22. There, Vitality emerged 2:1 winners. Will it be the same again this time around? While Vitality do come into the Final as favorites, you’d be silly to write off FURIA completely, especially in the best-of-five. Reminder – FURIA won BO5 Finals at both FISSURE Playground 2 and the Thunderpick World Championship 2025, so they’ve shown their map pool is deep enough to compete in that format.
