Counter-Strike 2’s first-ever Major, the PGL Copenhagen Major, begins on March 17. Twenty-four of the best teams from across the globe will battle it out in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the honor of being the first Major Champions in CS2’s history. A $1,250,000 prize pool is at stake, but more importantly, so is the biggest prize that Counter-Strike has to offer. Here is everything you need to know to keep up with the PGL Copenhagen Major.

PGL Copenhagen Major Schedule and Format
The PGL Copenhagen Major will begin with 24 teams. These teams qualified for the tournament as either Opening Stage Invites or Elimination Stage Invites. To see the complete list of qualified teams and their invite tier, check here.
The Opening Stage runs from March 17 to 20. The 16 teams in this invite tier will be seeded into a Swiss system. Teams earn a spot in the next stage by winning three total matches and are eliminated by losing three total matches. Teams will play best-of-ones until they have either two wins or two losses. After that, all advancement and elimination matches are best-of-threes. Match days begin at 8:00 AM ET / 5:00 AM PT.
The Elimination Stage takes place from March 21 to 24. The eight advancing teams from the Opening Stage will meet with the eight Elimination Stage Invites to form another 16-team Swiss system. The format and advancement/elimination requirements will be identical to the Opening Stage. Eight teams will reach the three-win mark and advance to the final stage.
The Playoff Stage begins on March 28, with the Grand Finals on March 31. This stage features a single elimination bracket. All matches, including the Grand Finals, will be best-of-three. Teams will be seeded based on their performance in the Elimination Stage.
