Just days after the conclusion of IEM Katowice 2025, it’s almost time for Tier 1 Counter-Strike to kick back into gear at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025. 16 have traveled to Romania in pursuit of glory, and I for one can’t wait to see how it plays out.
One of the most interesting things about PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 is that most of the top teams in the world declined their invites, despite the gap in the Counter-Strike calendar and the eye-watering $1.25 million prize pool. This means a few teams usually outside of the top tier have a chance to play favorite for the first time, making my PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 Power Rankings particularly unique.
| PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 Power Rankings | |
|---|---|
| Team Name | Power Ranking |
| FaZe Clan | 1st |
| The MongolZ | 2nd |
| Eternal Fire | 3rd |
| Team Falcons | 4th |
| MOUZ | 5th |
| Virtus.pro | 6th |
| paiN Gaming | 7th |
| Astralis | 8th |
| Complexity | 9th |
| 3DMAX | 10th |
| Wildcard | 11th |
| SAW | 12th |
| BIG | 13th |
| MIBR | 14th |
| FlyQuest | 15th |
| Imperial fe | 16th |

For a while now, much of the conversation surrounding Eternal Fire has been about their inability to get over the line in a LAN. In the last five months alone, the Turkish team has finished runners-up at BLAST Bounty Spring, ESL Pro League Season 20, and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2. Any of those would have been a substantial win for the team, but for now, they remain empty-handed.
If I’m Eternal Fire, I’m looking at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 as a major opportunity to finally break that streak. You can’t face Spirit or NAVI in the Final, so there’s no excuse for not being able to win. I may have them down as third on my PGL Cluj-Napoca Power Rankings, but I’ll be disappointed if they don’t make a real break for the championship.

After a torrid 2024, the pressure is on for this new Falcons roster to deliver where the previous individuals failed. Without the top teams there to destroy them, there’s no better chance for Falcons to get ahead than PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025.
I’m not one to lose faith in a roster this early on in the process, but Falcons really have to show some signs of life in this tournament. I’m not suggesting they have to win the entire thing, but I’d have to think that a Semi-Finals appearance feels like the bare minimum, given the opposition here. Fourth place is where Falcons sit in my PGL Cluj-Napoca Power Rankings, and I’ll be shocked if they finish any lower.
Looking at the teams at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, I think there are a few teams who make for great underdogs. The first is Virtus.pro. Their early debuts with ICY and FL4MUS have been surprisingly impressive, and they have already managed to reach the IEM Katowice Playoffs against all the odds. Don’t be surprised to see VP make a deep run at PGL Cluj-Napoca.
The other team I want to mention is Wildcard. Ever since their appearance at the PW Shanghai Major, I’ve wanted to see more of stanislaw’s team. A win over BIG and a close loss against FURIA at Katowice shows they can compete with teams of a decent level, certainly against those attending PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025. They’ll want to bounce back from their last appearance on the server, too – a 13:0 trouncing against Team Liquid.
