In less than 24 hours, MOUZ has benched their potent IGL, handed the reins over to Brollan, signed up an academy player, shown interest in Spinx, and then signed him? All of this right after roster mania wrapped up and only when we are only a few weeks into the season? This has escalated far too quickly, and it raises some serious questions for all parties involved.
Starting with Spinx. He was part of Vitality, a team that has been on a tear recently. He had one of the best AWPers in Counter-Strike beside him and was surrounded by top-tier talent. Leaving that team for MOUZ seems baffling at first. But if memory serves me right, Spinx made this decision himself because he didn’t feel like he fit into the team’s dynamic.

It’s hard to wrap my head around the thought of him deciding to play under Brollan, but Valve’s guidelines for invites and his nationality might’ve made it difficult for him to find another home. It might be better to play for MOUZ than to sit out tournaments.
But let’s not forget about MOUZ. What’s confusing here is why Spinx is replacing siuhy and not Brollan. Is Spinx an upgrade over Brollan? Absolutely. Is siuhy an upgrade over Brollan as an IGL? Without a doubt. So why was siuhy the one to get the axe?
There are a couple of scenarios I can imagine. The first is that there was some internal conflict as siuhy mentioned in his tweet between him and someone at MOUZ, not Brollan. Maybe siuhy felt like his voice wasn’t being heard and decided it was time to call it quits. But then, that raises the question: Why didn’t the person he clashed with take control of the reins once the spot was vacant?

Another possibility is that siuhy’s departure wasn’t as sudden as it seemed. The speed at which MOUZ signed Spinx makes it hard to believe the paperwork was processed that fast. If this was premeditated, we might soon see where siuhy lands next.
Well, to be honest, I have no idea how Brollan is going to lead this team. But there’s no shortage of firepower at their disposal. Spinx could have more freedom on this roster than he had at Vitality, but that comes with the responsibility of taking more initiative. Whatever form this will take, the team doesn’t have a lot of time to figure it out with IEM Katowice just around the corner.
Even if this project falters, it could serve as a great proving ground for Spinx to showcase his true potential. He did well in Vitality, no question, but I believe there’s more to unlock here.
