FISSURE Playground 2 is here, just a few days out from Counter-Strike’s latest big event at BLAST Open Fall 2025. This latest tournament from FISSURE fills the gap nicely between BLAST and ESL Pro League S22, and there are some great teams in attendance.

Our FISSURE Playground 2 Power Rankings should give you a better idea of who you can expect to see reach the latter stages of the event. The last FISSURE Playground CS2 tournament was won by TYLOO, who beat Astralis in the Final a couple of months back.

The MongolZ stand as heavy favorites for FISSURE Playground 2

When you look at the FISSURE Playground 2 team list, The MongolZ stand out as a class above the rest. After winning the Esports World Cup 2025, there can be no doubt about their credentials as a team in contention for the very top prizes.

That’s why The MongolZ sit comfortably at the top of our FISSURE Playground 2 Power Rankings. I expect them to win this trophy pretty handily, and I suspect they’ll be disappointed with anything less.

G2’s chance to stake a real contender claim is now

G2‘s surprise win at BLAST Open Fall 2025 over Vitality has blown open our expectations about who is contending at the top of the game right now. They should have had no business winning that event, and now the onus is on G2 to prove it wasn’t just a fluke.

There are still questions around G2’s ceiling for me. That’s why FISSURE Playground 2 is such an interesting tournament from G2’s perspective. Bomb out, and the BLAST win just looks a little more bizarre. Win it, and we could have a new contender in town. Time to keep the momentum rolling.

Potential FISSURE Playground 2 underdogs

The slate of CS2 teams attending FISSURE Playground 2 is pretty strong across the board, but even across this consistent lineup, there are a few underdogs worthy of your attention.

First is Virtus.pro. I have them 10th in my FISSURE Playground 2 Power Rankings, but they are such a curiosity for this event. It’s their debut with Perfecto as IGL following electroNic’s removal, and it’s younger tO0RO’s first-ever Tier 1 event after his promotion from VP.Prodigy. Few know whether this kid is any good or not, so if he’s actually a hidden top talent, then Virtus.pro could be a surprise package here. Or they could bomb out first – both are equally likely.

I’m also fascinated to watch Astralis play FISSURE Playground 2. They’ve brought Magisk back into the fold, reuniting him with dev1ce on the server for the first time in over four years. Is this Counter-Strike nostalgia trip destined to fail, or can they really run it back and bring the glory days back to Astralis? It all starts here.
