FiReSPORTS has been approved as the host of the first CS2 Major of 2027, it has been claimed. A new report from HLTV suggests that Buenos Aires will play host to the first-ever Argentinian Counter-Strike Major, and the second in South America after IEM Rio 2022.

FiReSPORTS’ bid to host the first Major of 2027 was initially revealed by HLTV, with the organization’s founder and CEO, Rodrigo Figueroa Reyes, confirming the news.
“We’re very excited to host the first Major in the history of our country,” he said. “Fans will be delighted to come to a city like Buenos Aires, a city that blends European and Latin American influences, where they will be surprised by the passion of Counter-Strike fans in Argentina. We are going to give it our all to make this a great Major.”
The FiReSPORTS Buenos Aires Major 2027 will take place between May 31 to June 20, 2027, and is a surprising choice, to say the least. FiReSPORTS has largely focused on small LANs in Argentina, and made headlines last year when FiReLEAGUE Buenos Aires 2025 took place in a subway station. From that to a Major will be a significant jump for the tournament organizer to handle.
The report also claims that Perfect World is set to host the second CS2 Major of 2027, once again in Shanghai, making it a repeat of 2024.
