FACEIT has made the most transformational change to their platform in their severely teased FACEIT 2.0 update today. Established in 2011, FACEIT now boasts over 13 million monthly logins, making it one of the most popular competitive gaming platforms out there.
The FACEIT 2.0 update, set to take effect from tomorrow, brings major transformative changes to the platform, which includes games such as Counter-Strike, VALORANT and Deadlock, improving both the design and the performance. Let us dive into the key changes.
FACEIT has rebuilt its platform using React, resulting in a far more responsive interface. This upgrade addresses the sluggish responses that plagued the previous system, especially for new users. That combined with a streamlined UI now makes the user experience significantly better.
FACEIT has reinforced their anti-cheating system, now making it more reliable in catching smurf accounts. After detecting multiple accounts, FACEIT gives a 48 hours deadline to verify your main account, while banning rest. A second time offence hands both accounts an instant ban. Reporting a smurf account is also a one-click process now.

The Premium Queue has made a return with three new features. These include a Premium Super Queue, which is available exclusively to subscribers in the EU and NA regions, offering a 30 Elo difference in gain/loss per match. A Veteran Matching, where players are matched with others who have a similar number of matches under their belt. And finally a vote kick option.
To give players a better understanding of their performance, FACEIT has introduced the ‘FACEIT Track’. It is an advanced stat tool that provides an in-depth breakdown of a player’s performance, diving into metrics such as ADR, Clutch Success, Utility usage, activity insights and map-specific insights.
OP Club Stacks, meant to dedicate a space to trusted players, allows players to gain Elo together. Still in Beta, there are over 100 Club Stacks which players can join right away. Moreover, FACEIT has added a Party Finder to allow solo warriors find suitable teammates based of their skill level, language, and country.
The FPL format has undergone changes to accommodate player availability more effectively. FACEIT has also made it easier for Non-FPL players to qualify, as top 10 EU and top 30 in all other regions based on their ELO rankings can get into that week’s FPL. The prize distribution for Season 4 includes a $50,000 to the champion and top 10 players, and another $147k awarded in weekly FPL events, taking the tally to $197k.
All of these changes do serve to raise the bar for competitive CS. We’ve all longed for a faster interface and the improved anti cheat measures can only serve to improve the community. The changes are long overdue and will definitely be a relief to solo queue warriors.
