Valve has removed the CS2 Transit map from the game in a new update, after it was allegedly found to include a hidden racist slur and copyrighted material. Transit was only added to Counter-Strike 2 as part of a new update a few days ago, but Valve swiftly removed the map after the apparent discovery.

Why was Transit removed from CS2?
In the CS2 Transit map, players could find posters around the map that showed the cat from the video game Stray, a copyright issue in itself. However, when “ent_fire” was typed into the console, players could allegedly see that the posters were tied to an in-game entity named “n***a_cat.”
In a response on Discord, map creator Rikuda described it as “incredibly stupid,” stating that the “only thing I’m truly upset about is that Valve didn’t notify us, because all this can be removed in five minutes.”

However, the Stray cat and its racist file name were not the only issues with CS2’s Transit, with some players noting that cryptocurrency FPI BANK was referenced multiple times, not least with an entire bank building dedicated to it. The company even thanked the map creators on X, drawing attention to its presence.
🚨FPI is now officially part of CS2 matchmaking 😍

While it’s good that Valve acted fast to remove Transit from CS2, it’s still unclear how it actually ended up there in the first place. Questions about Valve’s vetting process must be asked to ensure this issue doesn’t happen again in the future.
