BLAST has announced the 32 teams attending BLAST Bounty Season 2 between August 5th and 17th. The event will see the majority of the best CS2 teams in the world fight for their share of a $500,000 prize pool, with one notable exception this time around.

BLAST Bounty Season 2 invites announced: Falcons the biggest team to skip

The first iteration of BLAST Bounty was held earlier this year, with a unique format that offered teams the ability to wager their potential prize money against their opponents pre-match. Team Spirit won the inaugural BLAST Bounty event, in what has turned out to be the high point of the team’s year so far.

Falcons skip out on BLAST Bounty Season 2

With BLAST officially locking in the 32 invites for BLAST Bounty Season 2, the tournament organizer has confirmed that Falcons have chosen to skip out on this event. They are by far the most notable team that won’t be in attendance, after failing to qualify for the LAN portion of the event back in Season 1. Other notable absentees include GamerLegion and 3DMAX.

Falcons’ attendance is likely a casualty of the stacked CS2 tournament calendar right now. The action at BLAST Bounty Season 2 begins two days after the end of IEM Cologne, an event Falcons will want to see themselves in the Final of. Despite this, the earlier stages of BLAST Bounty Season 2 will be played online, so it’s likely the commitments after the event that have scuppered the potential for an invite. With BLAST Bounty Season 2 ending on August 17th in Malta, it would be a tough ask for the team to go again at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh just three days later.

For the 32 teams taking part in BLAST Bounty Season 2, there’s no guarantee of a LAN place. Only the top eight teams will fly out to Malta to play on LAN after the online portion concludes. You can find the full BLAST Bounty Season 2 team list below:
