CS2 lurkers play one of the most important roles in the game. This role exists exclusively on T-side, usually playing away from the pack to try and mislead the CTs about where the bomb plant is going to come in. Sometimes, the role involves cutting off rotations from one site to another, and it can also just include getting a good old-fashioned flank. You may see lurkers be called “rats” by their enemies, and there’s no denying that a good one can be frustrating to play against.
Being a great CS2 lurker requires god-like gamesense, as you need to be aware of timings for where the enemy can be at all times. If you’re too late to make your move and you’re left last alive, it can look a lot like baiting. And believe me, there’s a fine line between lurking and baiting. So, who are the best lurkers in CS2 in 2025?

Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotja is still a fairly young talent, but he’s been on the scene for a couple of years now. He takes on the primary role of lurker for Team Spirit, and has done so to great success, possessing great gamesense given his age. He has already established himself among the best lurkers in CS2, winning huge prizes such as IEM Katowice and a Major. His shooting style is very unique, too – he often aims for the body, giving him a typical headshot percentage more in line with what you might expect to see from an elite CS2 AWPer.

Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo has been among the best CS2 lurkers from the moment he stepped into Tier 1 in mid-2023. MOUZ’s primary lurker has enjoyed a quieter 2025 after an excellent 2024, but you’d still back him to find impact when you need him most. Whereas in 2025 he was considered to be in the top 20 best CS2 players, he probably just misses that mark this year. Still, he absolutely qualifies as elite.

MOUZ sort of has two lurkers, the second being Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. He was more of a lurker in his Vitality stint, but these days, it’s something he takes up less regularly. Regardless, he’s still tasked with picking and prodding around the map on occasion, and when he does, it almost always goes well. You simply can’t talk about the best CS2 lurkers and ignore Spinx.

David “frozen” Čerňanský is one of those players with such strong raw aim that many people forget he’s even a lurker at times. He passes the eye test on the server, rarely losing a 1v1 duel, and he’s not bad in the clutch, either. This allows him to pull back man-disadvantages on a regular basis, which is an essential trait for any of the best lurkers in CS2. The young veteran frozen will be lurking around corners for years to come.

There’s an increasing argument to be made that Robin “ropz” Kool isn’t just among the best lurkers in CS2 for 2025 – but among the best lurkers of all time. A two-time ESL Grand Slam winner, two-time Major winner, two-time Katowice winner, and sure, why not throw a Cologne in there for good measure? He’s got the accolades, and with good reason. Lurker ropz is an utter menace on the T-side, seemingly always finding an opening that has a real impact on rounds. Combine that with top-tier mechanics and elite movement among the best we’ve ever seen in the game, and that’s why ropz is top of the pile of the best CS2 lurkers right now.
