The famous Virtus plow. This legendary Virtus.pro lineup ticked off two of the biggest prizes at once with the ESL Major Series One Katowice 2014. That’s right – a Major and Katowice, all at once. The first CS:GO Katowice tournament helped set the standard for what fans could expect from the event for years to come.

The iconic Fnatic lineup that dominated the scenes in the early days of CS:GO picked up their first Katowice trophy in 2015. ESL One Katowice 2015 was yet another Major held in the Spodek, cementing the city’s status as a renowned Counter-Strike location, and a must-win for all wannabe legends out there.

With dennis replacing pronax, Fnatic repeated the feat in 2016, taking down FalleN’s Luminosity Gaming in the Grand Final. To this day, they remain the only team to win IEM Katowice back-to-back, highlighting the difficulty of such an achievement.

IEM Katowice 2017 was the first sign of Astralis‘ domination for years to come. After years of choking in the biggest moments, Astralis were finally able to get over the line with one of Counter-Strike’s most prestigious prizes. A massive moment in this team’s development.

This was a Fnatic team long past its prime, becoming (still) the only team to win IEM Katowice three times in 2018. It was one of the last trophies the core of KRIMZ, JW, and flusha would ever win, and what a way to secure your legacy.

IEM Katowice 2019 was another Major held in Poland, this time providing Astralis with their third of four Major wins, and their second Katowice championship. At this point, the Astralis era was in full swing, even if we wouldn’t know how close it was to coming to an end.

Just prior to the online era, NAVI snuck in a win at IEM Katowice 2020. The pieces had finally started to fall into place for NAVI, who would later become one of Counter-Strike’s dominant forces after b1t replaced flamie. IEM Katowice 2020 was simply a preview.

Gambit were the surprise winners of IEM Katowice 2021, with the entire tournament played online. It’s a massive shame they didn’t get to celebrate their win in front of a crowd thanks to the pandemic, but their place in history is secure.

With ropz in as the final piece, IEM Katowice 2022 was the sign that FaZe Clan were now a force to be reckoned with. Finally, karrigan had everything he needed to add the biggest trophies to his collection, kicking off that process in the Spodek.

2023 was the year where NiKo finally started to get the silverware his incredible individual career had deserved. At IEM Katowice 2023, he (with G2) broke one of his longest ducks, heading to Poland with new IGL HooXi, young prodigy m0NESY, his cousin huNter-, and previous winner jks, emerging victorious at the end of it all.

Team Spirit‘s IEM Katowice 2024 win will historically go down as the moment donk introduced himself on the big stage. His first-ever big event, and he produces arguably the best individual performance ever seen. No one will ever have a better debut, and what a way to top it off by lifting the famous trophy in the Spodek.

After over a decade of chasing, apEX finally got his hands on the last missing trophy in his cabinet at IEM Katowice 2025. This was a team effort, of course, with all of Team Vitality coming up clutch to help get the win.
