The CS2 Sealed Genesis Terminal is a type of package added to the game as part of the Genesis Collection update. This update added 17 skins that can only be found in this new item, but they don’t work exactly the same as standard cases.
As a matter of fact, there’s no guarantee you’ll get anything from a CS2 Sealed Genesis Terminal at all – here’s how to get the new Genesis Collection skins from this new container type.
The new CS2 Sealed Genesis Terminal can be obtained in one of two ways: purchased from the Steam Community Marketplace, or obtained as a Weekly Drop. At this stage, it’s unclear how common they are from the Weekly Drop.
When you have your Sealed Genesis Terminal, you don’t have to buy a key to open it. You simply unseal it, at which point you’ll be presented with an initial offer, an opportunity to purchase one of the 17 CS2 Genesis Collection skins at random. This value is predetermined by Valve based on the skin, but it’s unclear at this point how the developer reached these figures. For the Red items, these can be in thousands in a good Wear Rating.

You don’t have to accept the offer – you can re-roll for another skin, which you can do up to five times. After the fifth, you can either purchase the item or discard the CS2 Sealed Genesis Terminal for good. That’s right – you won’t get anything from your item at all if you choose to decline all your offers. After this, the Sealed Genesis Terminal disappears from your inventory for good.
However, if you choose to take the offer, you’ll pay the price as displayed, and your item will get an Original Owner Certificate while inspecting it, which is pretty cool.

No doubt there will be more Sealed Terminals added in the future, but for now, the CS2 Sealed Genesis Terminal is all we have.
