The viewership of the Americas has trumped that of the VALORANT Champions Tour’s (VCT) other regions, reaching a peak of more than 550k concurrent viewers. According to data available from esports viewership tracker Esports Charts, the lower bracket final between Sentinels and MIBR reached the highest peak of the tournament, capping out at 553,842 viewers.

By comparison, Pacific Kickoff reached a peak of 380,345 in its lower bracket match between DetonatioN FocusMe and Paper Rex, while VCT EMEA Kickoff’s peak of 334,145 came in an early upper bracket series between Apeks and Gentle Mates.

Esports Charts also lists the VCT China Kickoff peak at 63,467, however it’s worth noting that these figures will not include viewers from within China as analytics of Chinese streaming services are difficult to track due to differences in base metrics.

Interestingly, none of the peaks for the three trackable regions occurred during their grand finals. In fact, only Pacific saw its grand final within the top three of its most-watched matches.

VCT Grand Finals Viewership By the Numbers

  • Americas – 435,049 (G2 Esports 3-2 Sentinels)
  • Pacific – 349,414 (DetonatioN FocusMe 3-2 T1)
  • EMEA – 263,335 (Team Vitality 3-2 Team Liquid)

In the Americas, each of its five most popular matches featured either Sentinels or at least one Brazilian organisation, highlighting both the popularity of Sentinels themselves as well as the huge backing from Brazilian viewers.

The Pacific peak came during the elimination of Paper Rex — one of VALORANT’s most popular teams worldwide — while the EMEA peak came during the debut of Apeks’ Ava “florescent” Eugene, the first Game Changers player to join a tier-one VCT team.

VCT Americas Kickoff also maintained the highest number of average viewers with 249,678 compared to the 181,359 and 181,001 average spectators of Pacific and EMEA respectively.

The co-streaming effect

With the VALORANT Champions Tour one of the earliest adopters of co-streaming, Riot Games’ official broadcasts are rarely those with the most viewers as fans instead watch along via their favourite personalities’ streams. Of the peak viewers for individual channels, only EMEA saw its own broadcast reach the highest peak (45,199). In Americas, former Counter-Strike professional Tarik “tarik” Celik gained the highest individual peak (86,037), while Japanese streamer and former-ZETA DIVISION player Koji “Laz” Ushida earned the highest peak in Pacific (67,563).
