Riot Games has rolled out VALORANT Patch 11.07, and while the update is lighter than some of the sweeping balance patches from earlier this year, it delivers several meaningful improvements. The focus here is on visual clarity, gameplay system consistency, and bug fixes that should smooth out frustrating edge cases. And tucked inside is a cheeky tease about a new custom mode going live on October 3rd, with more details promised during Champions Finals Weekend.

Patch 11.07 zeroes in on quality-of-life improvements for specific agents whose abilities rely heavily on clarity.
Cypher players will notice that parts of his Spycam visual glitch effect have been removed. Previously, rapidly entering and exiting the camera could cause disruptive effects that made it harder to track enemies. The fix should make information gathering smoother and more reliable, especially for players who check their camera often.
Waylay, the recently introduced agent, also receives a clarity upgrade. Her Convergent Paths ability now has sharper visual indicators on the edges of the zone, ensuring players know exactly where boundaries are when trying to dodge or reposition. It’s a small but important adjustment to help reduce confusion in high-pressure situations.
Beyond individual agents, Riot is also taking broader steps to ensure abilities behave consistently across the board. As new agents and abilities join the roster, the goal is to give players intuitive cues no matter who they’re facing.
Abilities that can be placed and reactivated now feature a distinctive teal color across the HUD and minimap. This standardization applies to several agents:
This color-coding should make it easier to instantly recognize interactive utility during hectic rounds.

In addition, controllable utility and drones have been updated on the mini map. Their icons now show a directional arrow to indicate which way they’re facing, with ally and enemy color coding, plus a new seeking-state indicator for drones that lock on to players. This clarity applies to a wide range of abilities:
These tweaks are subtle but should add up to a more intuitive experience across matches.

Perhaps the most exciting part of patch 11.07 is the reveal of a new mode in Customs. Starting October 3rd, players can access it by creating a custom lobby and inviting friends. Riot has kept the details deliberately vague, hinting only that more will be revealed during VALORANT Champions Finals Weekend. The timing suggests the new mode may tie into the spectacle of the season’s biggest event — sparking speculation that a fresh twist or even a teaser for a new agent could be on the horizon.
Riot has squashed several pesky bugs in this patch, many of which directly impact competitive play.
Riot also noted progress on the frustrating invisible agents bug. A fix has been implemented to resolve most cases, but the team acknowledges that rare occurrences may still happen. They encourage players to report any remaining issues through Player Support.
Replay functionality continues to improve. In 11.07, both “Show Replay UI” and “Show Cursor” will now toggle off properly when using the option to hide the in-game interface. This gives players cleaner footage when reviewing matches or creating content.
The Premier system is also being prepped for expansion. Riot confirmed that VCT team tags will be added in an upcoming patch. To pave the way, current Premier teams using names or tags identical to partnered VCT organizations will be prompted to update their identities.
Riot listed several issues that remain under investigation, with fixes expected in Patch 11.08:
Patch 11.07 may not shift the meta, but it focuses on clarity, polish, and reducing frustrating inconsistencies. Cypher and Waylay players in particular will feel the benefits, while universal changes to ability colors and minimap icons should make matches smoother for everyone.
The highlight, though, is Riot’s cryptic tease of a new custom mode launching October 3rd. With details promised during Champions Finals Weekend, anticipation is high that Riot will use the global stage to showcase something special.
