VALORANT Patch 10.08 adds gifting and more

The VALORANT Patch 10.08 has a couple of changes coming alongside its map rotation. On the social aspect of the game, gifting is now integrated into VALORANT. Featured store bundles as early as the game’s first Act can be gifted to other players to send directly to your friends. You can also choose to gift specific items from the bundle to recipients.

To gift items, head to the store and the bundle/item you’re looking to gift. Next to the purchase button, in the bottom right, you can select the gift button and pick from your friends list to send to. Once the giftee neext logs in to VALORANT, they will get a notification for the gift and can choose to accept or decline the gift.

At this point in time, only featured bundle items are eligible for gifting, but plans are in place to expand this in future.

Agent Changes and Ranked

Ranked Gun Buddies are coming to the game in patch 11.00, so there’s a little bit of time til they come out. From now until patch 11, your highest reached rank will become the Gun Buddy you get. The period for calculating the buddy will be your ranks between Act 1 and 3, to be given out at the start of Act 4.

Only 3 agents will have changes in this patch which should make their roles a little easier to fulfil.

Brimstone

Largely a small change for Brimstone, they’ve made his Molotov easier to hear, specifically when its under smokes. It’s part of a move to generally improve visual and audio clarity across the game.

Astra

Nova Stun is being changed from a 4 second stun, to 3.5 seconds. The change is to standardise her stun to the other non-ultimate concusses that are 3.5 seconds.

Yoru

Getting a duration nerf and a point increase, it now costs 8 points instead of 7 to activate Dimensional Drift. The duration has been cut from 12 seconds down to 10 seconds. Yoru has been one of the most popular agents seen in VCT, used across all the regions to a great degree of success. His ability to fully scout out a team’s setup with a single ability, bodyblock for wallbangs and set up crossfires has made him a menace in coordinated play.

Premiere is coming back

Alongside mentioning a range of VFX and Audio bug fixes, Riot announced that Premiere is back from May 7th. Players that end up with infractions outside of Premiere will have their availability hampered for a duration that scales with how severe the infraction is. This is a change from the blanket 30 day removal from premiere.
