The VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA region isn’t wasting any time in 2026. Fresh off the intense VCT EMEA Kickoff and before the international spotlight shifts to Masters Santiago, a new competition is set to shake up the competitive landscape. Enter VALORANT EMEA Clash, a tournament that’s bringing together the best of both worlds: the established powerhouses of VCT EMEA and the hungry rising stars from the Challengers circuits. Operated in partnership with Vanguard, the trusted organizers behind VALORANT Challengers MENA, this event promises to redefine competitive VALORANT in the region.

EMEA Clash isn’t your typical tournament. Drawing inspiration from the duality themes deeply woven into VALORANT’s lore, this event introduces a format unlike anything we’ve seen before in the VCT ecosystem. It’s a high-stakes proving ground where reputation meets raw ambition, and where second chances come with a twist you won’t see coming. With three VCT EMEA slots already locked in for Masters Santiago through Kickoff, the remaining six teams from the league find themselves back in the trenches. But they won’t be alone. Six elite squads from the various Challengers regions are joining the fray, creating a 12-team battle royale where established veterans will have to prove their dominance against the next generation of talent.
For clarity on team participation: according to Esports Product Manager Gin Tomek, Riot reached out to all VCT EMEA teams ahead of EMEA Clash to understand interest in playing if they don’t qualify for Masters Santiago. A number of teams confirmed they wouldn’t compete regardless of Kickoff outcome. Participation in EMEA Clash for VCT EMEA teams is purely optional. From the pool of teams that do opt in, the top 6 teams at Kickoff will be selected to compete.
Here’s where things get interesting. Clash operates on a concept called “Alpha and Omega” that fundamentally changes how bracket tournaments work. Instead of one traditional bracket, the competition runs two simultaneous double-elimination brackets running in parallel. By the tournament’s conclusion, two separate champions will be crowned: the Alpha Champion and the Omega Champion.

The seeding process rewards recent performance while injecting an element of chance:
The VCT Elite Tier: The top four teams from VCT EMEA Kickoff receive automatic byes directly into Round 2, giving them a crucial advantage in the early stages of competition.
The Challenger Pool: The remaining two VCT EMEA teams and all six Challengers representatives (eight teams total) enter a randomized draw. However, there’s one critical stipulation: the two VCT EMEA teams from this pool will be guaranteed placement in separate brackets, ensuring both Alpha and Omega feature established league talent.
While Alpha and Omega appear to be independent brackets, they’re actually tethered together in a way that creates unprecedented strategic complexity. Starting in Round 2, teams that lose in the Upper Bracket don’t simply drop down within their own bracket. Instead, they’re sent across dimensions into the Lower Bracket of the opposite world. If you lose in Alpha’s Upper Bracket, you fall to Omega’s Lower Bracket. Lose in Omega’s Upper Bracket? You’re headed to Alpha’s Lower Bracket.
This interconnected system means your second chance doesn’t just give you a new opponent, it throws you into an entirely different competitive environment. You’ll face teams you might never have encountered otherwise, creating fresh matchups and unexpected storylines throughout the tournament. One loss fundamentally changes your tournament journey in ways traditional brackets simply can’t replicate.
EMEA Clash runs across two competition windows in late February:
Week 1: February 19-22
Week 2: February 24-25
The compressed schedule means teams will need to stay sharp and adaptable, with little time to recover between high-pressure matches. The quick turnaround between weeks adds another layer of challenge, testing not just in-game skill but mental fortitude and roster depth.

Fans can catch all the action across multiple streaming platforms:

Local Challengers channels will also provide exclusive coverage of specific matches throughout the event, offering fans the chance to catch their regional favorites with commentary in their native languages.
Beyond the prestige of becoming Alpha or Omega Champion, EMEA Clash serves as a critical proving ground heading into VCT EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs. For the VCT teams, it’s a chance to build momentum, test strategies, and maintain competitive sharpness. For the Challengers squads, it’s an opportunity to announce their arrival, upset established teams, and prove they belong among the region’s elite.
The question looming over EMEA is simple but loaded: will the VCT veterans hold their ground against the rising tide, or will the Challengers rewrite the power structure of the region?
With an innovative format that ensures chaos, unpredictability, and high-stakes drama at every turn, EMEA Clash is positioned to become a must-watch event in the VALORANT calendar. It’s a bold experiment that could influence how other regions structure their tournaments moving forward. The collision between EMEA’s present and future is about to begin, and you won’t want to miss a single round of this groundbreaking tournament.
