Riot Games has officially released the much-anticipated VALORANT Champions 2025 anthem: “LAST SHOT” by rising duo templuv featuring Canadian artist 347aidan. The track, paired with a cinematic music video, is now live across all major streaming platforms and stands as the latest entry in VALORANT’s growing legacy of fusing competitive gaming with original music.
The release continues a celebrated tradition. Each year, Riot Games commissions a unique anthem to encapsulate the spirit of the VCT Finals, blending music with esports storytelling. This year’s anthem, “LAST SHOT”, captures the adrenaline, emotional highs, and razor-edge stakes that define the world of VALORANT Champions. That said, it seems to lack the emotional gut punch of prior anthems, though music is, of course, subjective.
Templuv, composed of Julian Conner and Brodin Plett, brings more than just musical talent to the collaboration. Plett himself is a passionate VALORANT player and member of OfflineTV, a well-known content creator collective deeply embedded in the gaming community. This insider connection gives “LAST SHOT” an authentic resonance with the VALORANT player base.
“We’ve been playing VALORANT since beta, so getting a chance to contribute to this universe was a full-circle moment,” templuv shared in the press release. “We’ve lived those clutch moments ourselves, and tapping into that gave us a chance to really push and play with templuv’s sound in new ways. It’s wild to get to be a part of this world and we can’t wait for other players to hear it.”
For Riot Games, involving artists who are also players underscores its mission to elevate the community itself. By bridging musicianship with gaming culture, “LAST SHOT” not only represents an anthem but also serves as a testament to VALORANT’s global identity as a lifestyle and cultural touchstone.
The cinematic music video for “LAST SHOT” amplifies the competitive essence of VALORANT. With visuals that mirror the split-second decision-making and tension of high-stakes matches, the video seeks to immerse both fans and casual viewers into the pressure-cooker environment of the VCT Finals, especially with their tongue-in-cheek messaging about popular in-game occurrences like your teammates back-seating or saying it’s “winnable.”
Jonny Altepeter, Lead Music Supervisor at Riot Games, described the anthem as a perfect embodiment of VALORANT’s ethos:
“templuv and 347aidan have created something truly special with ‘LAST SHOT,’ channeling the competitive fire and emotional highs that define Champions. Their sound feels deeply rooted in the spirit of VALORANT, blending intensity and heart in a way that resonates with players and fans alike. Collaborating with them has been an absolute thrill, and we can’t wait for players around the world to experience their energy live when they perform at the Finals Opening Ceremony.”

Fans will get to experience the track live during the Opening Ceremony of the VALORANT Champions Finals on October 5, 2025, at the Accor Arena in Paris. This marks the first live performance of “LAST SHOT”, adding another layer of excitement to the tournament’s climactic weekend. This is similar to previous grand finals, where other anthems were played ahead of the match, as well as a showmatch that will showcase the new agent coming into the game (number 29).
The 2025 tournament, running from September 12 to October 5, will bring together the world’s top 16 teams for the fifth edition of the championship. Since its inception in 2021, the VALORANT Champions finals have been hosted across global cities, including Berlin, Istanbul, Los Angeles, and Seoul. Last year’s tournament saw EDward Gaming (EDG) claim victory over G2 esports, and they could very well be the team to ensure China wins back-to-back Champions trophies, a feat that no other team has managed to date.
“LAST SHOT” joins a prestigious lineup of previous Champions anthems, which include:
With “LAST SHOT,” Riot Games continues to expand VALORANT’s cultural footprint, spawning popular memes like “Riot makes great games for a music studio.” The anthem encapsulates not only the energy of esports competition but also the growing intersections of gaming, music, and entertainment, as well as trying to connect with the players through in-game references. That said, in our opinion, it still falls short compared to the sheer brilliance of songs like Ticking Away, or Die For You. Despite the song not being that catchy, the music video is still fire, and for the global VALORANT community, the song will serve as the soundtrack to the defining plays, clutch moments, and unforgettable memories of Champions 2025.
