Former VALORANT professional player and now content creator Tyson “TenZ” Ngo has confirmed his departure from esports organisation Sentinels.

TenZ Officially Parts Ways with Sentinels

TenZ leaves Sentinels after nearly four years of collaboration

The Canadian streamer has confirmed he will be leaving the organization on May 8 after making a post on X. In the message to his community, TenZ described his time on Sentinals as “an amazing ride” and that he “wouldn’t have traded it for anything else”, calling the players and staff “true family”.

“I appreciate all the Sentinels fans for the continued support throughout my career and hope you continue to support the team even with my absence. All good things must come to an end, goodbye Sen City, it’s been fun!” he wrote.

TenZ unveils the reason behind his departure

The announcement confirms the speculations from the previous days when members of the VALORANT community noticed TenZ’s social media pages no longer were affiliated with the esports organization.

Sentinels quickly clarified the reasons behind the departure, stating that the decision was made solely due to a conflict with future sponsorship deals. “Guys, relax, this is just to avoid any conflicts with future sponsors. TenZ will always be part of the Sentinels family,” the organization wrote on X.

Despite no longer being with Sentinels, TenZ has stated he will be open to future collaborations on content and even joked about still having access to the team’s office.

TenZ is regarded as one of the best VALORANT players in the early years of the competitive scene. Joining Sentinels back in 2021 after transitioning from CS:GO, he led the team to two international titles, Masters Reykjavik in 2021 and Masters Madrid in 2024, as well as a fourth place at last year’s VCT Champions Seoul. Shortly after the end of the tournament, TenZ announced his retirement from competitive on September 14th, 2024, moving to streaming on Twitch.
