The last two matches of the group stage concluded at Valorant Champions Paris 2025 have concluded, deciding which two teams would claim the final two playoff slots. MIBR defeated Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) 2-0 to claim one of the final places, while G2 Esports edged out T1 2-0 to secure theirs. For RRQ and T1, their Champions journey ends here. For MIBR and G2, it’s onward to the playoffs.

MIBR and G2 storm into VALORANT Champions playoffs, RRQ and T1 eliminated

MIBR vs. Rex Regum Qeon: MIBR Dominates to Secure Playoff Slot

In the final decider game in Group B, MIBR and RRQ battled with playoff aspirations on the line. Both teams had won over BiliBili Gaming and lost to Fnatic. RRQ banned Bind, MIBR banned Lotus. RRQ picked Corrode, MIBR picked Abyss. After those maps, Haven remained as the decider.

Corrode: MIBR win 13-5

Despite this map being RRQ’s pick, MIBR were in command. Their attacking side was utterly dominant with aspas and artzin both fragging out insanely, ensuring the first half was already lopsided. MIBR built a lead of 9-3 at the end of the half that RRQ couldn’t jump past. Post-swap, MIBR rolled through, shutting down RRQ’s attempt to mount comebacks and won the map 13-5.

Artzin on KAY/O delivered a standout performance on the map, putting up about 21 kills, a +12 kill differential, and 4 first kills, with an ACS of 345. His utility and his multifrags alongside Aspas made him an absolute menace.

Abyss: MIBR win 13-5

Picking Abyss, MIBR kept up the heat, this time starting on defense. Their Astra/Cypher combo made it very difficult for RRQ to enter sites, and their Sova and KAY/O consistently gained info for the team. RRQ tried to push back, but again the first half ended lopsided in favor of MIBR at 8-4, who then closed cleanly with limited mistakes. It seemed like MIBR could do no wrong, especially with aspas absolutely demolishing the lobby.

He was the map two MVP with an ACS of 247 on the Jett, as well as 3 first kills and 83% KAST. Both artzin and aspas had upwards of 250 ACS across both maps, and ensured MIBR’s dominant win. With this win, MIBR qualify for the playoffs and join NRG and G2 as the third representative from Americas.

T1 vs G2 Esports — G2 Win 2-0, Attain Revenge for Masters Bangkok

In Group D, T1 and G2 squared off for the final playoff spot out of their group. The map veto saw T1 ban Sunset, G2 ban Bind. G2 then picked Lotus and T1 picked Corrode. Haven was the series decider.

Lotus: G2 win 13-9

While T1 opted for a double-duelist comp, G2 went for a double controller and initiator comp, which facilitated their opening rounds on defense. The American representatives found a strong lead, ending the half 8-4. After the side swap, T1 recovered, bringing the score to 9-9, but G2 had their number by then. They won the next four rounds and won their map pick to close out the map at 13-9.

G2’s IGL valyn was the standout player on the team on Omen, with jawgemo right behind him in terms of stats. They had eight first kills and 44 frags between them.

Corrode: G2 win 13-8

Corrode saw G2 maintain momentum from their map one win. They were on attack this time, and with the same comp they were running on Corrode, they got off to a 8-4 lead once again. T1 tried to come back on their own attacking side, but despite bringing the score to 8-11, G2’s defense held firm and they won the map at 13-8.

Leaf, jawgemo, and trent all popped off this game, with all three having a +7 kill differential and 230+ ACS. Across both maps, jawgemo was G2’s MVP, with 11 first kills and 42 frags across both maps.

VALORANT Champions: The Final Eight

With these results, the final eight teams now heading into the VALORANT Champions 2025 Playoffs are:

  • Paper Rex
  • Team Heretics
  • NRG
  • Fnatic
  • GIANTX
  • MIBR
  • DRX
  • G2 Esports

After an exciting group stage, PRX, Fnatic, NRG, and Team Heretics enter the playoffs as the first seeds of their group, and so far haven’t lost a series yet. On the other hand, while GX, DRX, MIBR, and G2 might have had more difficult runs, they won when it mattered the most and now have a few days to recover and prepare for the final gauntlet.

The playoffs are scheduled to begin on September 25th, with Paper Rex versus G2 the first matchup. With the field narrowed down to half of its original size, the next stage of Valorant Champions Paris promises to be intense, with three Americas teams plus two EMEA and Pacific representatives.
