GIANTX has become the last of 16 teams worldwide to qualify for VALORANT Champions after their VCT EMEA Stage 2 lower bracket win over BBL Esports. The victory means they now move on to tomorrow’s grand final against Team Liquid, while BBL exit playoffs and fail to earn a spot in Paris.

GX dominates BBL in 3-0 win

GX blew away all expectations when they handily won what was supposed to be a close series in which, if anything, they were the slight underdogs.

The opening map, BBL’s Ascent pick, began the best-of-five in stunning fashion. A 13-2 victory for GX saw them beat up BBL on the server, making an instant statement in the series. Flickless and westside were in especially good form from the outset, finishing with respective +11 and +14 kill differentials.

Map two was closer as BBL avoided total capitulation, though they again began poorly. The opening half saw a 9-3 lead for GX, before BBL began to fight back in the second half to take five of the next six maps. Despite BBL’s efforts, GIANTX quickly regained control, won the next three rounds, and closed the map, extending the series lead to 2-0 and within one map of Champs.

The third map, a Bind pick for BBL, returned to the one-sided. While not quite as explosive, the 13-6 victory for GIANTX again saw them dominate their Turkish opponents to complete what was overall a 3-0 victory in which they faced little pushback.

BBL’s heroic effort against Team Liquid in the upper bracket final the day prior appeared to have drained the side, while GX took momentum from their earlier victory against NAVI to grow in stature for this matchup.

VCT EMEA Stage 2 Final: Team Liquid vs GIANTX

GIANTX’s win moves them on to tomorrow’s grand final, where they’ll face nAts-led Team Liquid. Team Liquid have been EMEA’s most consistent top performing team throughout 2025 and would’ve ordinarily been heavy favourites against either of GX or BBL.

That said, the incredible nature of GX’s 3-0 swatting of BBL suddenly makes facing them a scarier prospect. If the Spanish side can avoid the fatigue of playing on stage for three days consecutively — twice in best-of-fives — and instead harness the momentum from back-to-back victories, then a much closer series than expected could be on the cards.
