Global Esports have finalized their roster and coaching staff ahead of the 2026 VCT Pacific season, marking another full-scale reset for an organization still chasing its first international qualification. After a difficult 2025 campaign, GE opted for a blend of proven international experience, emerging regional talent, and a reinforced coaching structure, headlined by the arrival of Masters Toronto champion Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza and veteran coach Hector “FrosT” Rosario.

Global Esports confirms new roster with PatMen for VCT Pacific 2026

PatMen: A Championship Winner Arrives

The centerpiece of Global Esports’ rebuild is Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza, who joins after a breakthrough 2025 rookie season with Paper Rex. PatMen was part of one of the strongest years in PRX history, culminating in a Masters Toronto 2025 championship and a 4th place finish at Champions Paris. Throughout the season, he established himself as one of the Pacific region’s most reliable support players, earning recognition as Pacific Rookie of the Year and Initiator of the Year. Coach Alecks wanted a player with experience playing on IRL sports teams, who played initiator and didn’t have “bad habits” from prior games, and PatMen fit the bill perfectly.

Paper Rex released him, saying the decision was made after “a comprehensive internal review involving our players, coaching staff, and performance team.”

Funnily enough, GE almost took down Paper Rex and denied them playoffs during Stage 1 of VCT Pacific, meaning PRX’s Toronto run could have never happened if GE had won. PatMen’s ability to deliver consistent impact across multiple compositions and high-pressure matches gives Global something they have historically lacked: a player with recent, proven success on the international stage as GE look to close the gap with Pacific’s elite.

The Rest of the Squad

Returning from the 2025 season is Derrick “deryeon” Yee , who emerged as one of Global’s most dependable performers despite the team’s struggles. Across Kickoff, Stage 1, and Stage 2, he frequently provided early-round impact as the team’s primary duelist. Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov also continues with the roster after serving as a stabilizing presence last year. While Global fell short of international contention, Kr1stal’s experience and adaptability were evident as the team showed improved structure and mid-round coordination later in the season.

Go “UdoTan” Kyung-won rounds out the returning core. Throughout 2025, UdoTan frequently shifted roles based on the team’s needs, including playing the secondary duelist role. His flexibility allowed Global to experiment tactically even when results did not materialize.

Among the new additions, Kale “Autumn” Dunne arrives after two seasons with FunPlus Phoenix in China. His first year with FPX saw the team qualify for all three international events in 2024, finishing just behind EDward Gaming as one of China’s top contenders. The 2025 season proved more turbulent, with FPX missing the first Masters after an early Kickoff exit and falling short of Stage 1 playoffs. Although the team recovered somewhat in Stage 2, they failed to make it to Champions. Autumn’s experience adds valuable perspective to Global’s lineup, and his multi-regional experience should also serve them well.

Global have also signed Xavier “xavi8k’ Juan, who joins after competing with Filipino Challengers team NAOS. In 2025, NAOS reacheda top six finish after a dominant group stage performance at Pacific Ascension, where xavi8k showcased his versatility on a variety of different roles, including appearances on Sage. His move to Global marks his first stint with an organization outside the Philippines, following earlier tenures with Bren Esports and Oasis Gaming.

Coaching Staff: A Global Perspective for GE

Leading Global’s new era is Hector “FrosT” Rosario, who joins after a two-year run as head coach of TALON Esports. During his tenure, TALON rose dramatically: from finishing near the bottom of the Pacific League in 2023 to qualifying as one of the region’s representatives at Champions Seoul 2024. While TALON experienced inconsistency in 2025 following a midseason shift to an all-Thai roster, the team rebounded in Stage 2 with a third-place finish, narrowly missing out on Champions qualification after a loss to RRQ.

Supporting FrosT is assistant coach Matthew “mCe” Elmore who coached the current G2 core towards their Ascension win in 2023 and has been with GE, alongside Vladimir “vladk0r” Kornev, who arrives after serving as head coach of Twisted Minds Orchid in 2025. Under vladk0r, Twisted Minds came within one match of qualifying for GCC 2025: Seoul. He previously worked as an analyst with NRG in 2024, bringing Tier 1 analytical experience to Global’s coaching booth. The coaching staff is completed by performance coach Cyprien “Patathor8” Schepens and analyst Daniel “Platoon” Zhou.

An Offseason Reset After Another Difficult Year

Global Esports’ extensive offseason overhaul follows another disappointing 2025 campaign. Despite competing across Pacific Kickoff, Stage 1, and Stage 2, the team failed to qualify for Masters Bangkok, Masters Toronto, or Champions. While signs of improvement emerged late in the season, results once again fell short. However, they looked better than their last two iterations, and this year’s lineup appears to be the strongest yet for Global.

In response to last year’s disappointments, Global parted ways with Elevated, who transitioned from assistant coach to head coach mid-year, along with players ban, yoman, and Papi. Their departures paved the way for the arrivals of FrosT, PatMen, Autumn, and xavi8k, signaling a clear intent to reset around established talent with room to grow. GE played the SOOP SEA qualifier with their new roster minus PatMen, where they placed top six but failed to qualify for the main event.
