Fnatic have officially announced the signing of French talent Sylvain “Veqaj” Pattyn, a move that completes their active roster and marks a significant shift in the organisation’s competitive strategy. The player was finally revealed at the team’s game against GIANTX at the INZONE London Clash Main Event where the roster found a win.
Veqaj entered the VALORANT scene primarily through European tier-two competition, where his versatility and self-sacrificial style began to attract attention. He played for Gentle Mates during much of 2025, and prior to that for Team Valiant and Zerance, among other teams. During his time in the French competitive scene, he ranked among the top players nationally, boasting high FK/FD ratios and a diverse agent pool spanning scan initiator (most recently) as well as duelist and flash-initiator roles. He is noted to have played a variety of agents such as Sova and Fade, as well as Viper, Breach, and duelists.
This signing represents Veqaj’s first move into a partnered Tier-1 roster and he replaces Chronicle after the latter moved to Vitality.
By bringing in Veqaj, Fnatic clearly intend to refresh their roster dynamics and inject new potential. Veqaj’s flexibility is one of his key strengths; though he may not instantly replace top-tier stars, his capacity to play multiple agent types allows Fnatic to experiment with composition, depth and meta adaptation. He performed especially well when playing Jett on maps like Abyss in prior events, and that his individual aim and game-sense rose under a system built by Fnatic. In his debut game against GIANTX, he played Killjoy, Viper, and Jett, showcasing his flexibility.
Fnatic’s head coach and roster lead have publicly noted that this signing aligns with their longer-term plan. While the move concludes the roster puzzle for now, the organization has indicated faith in the new lineup’s ability to progress through the competitive cycle rather than just serve as a stop-gap.

Veqaj’s first major appearance with Fnatic occurred in their opening series against GX during the INZONE London Clash. While the team delivered a convincing but close win, the focus was naturally on how well Veqaj seemed to integrate. His communication, adaptability on a variety of different roles, and synergy with veteran teammates such as Alfajer and Boaster provided early signals that the transition could succeed.
Signing a player of Veqaj’s profile is an acknowledgment that Fnatic are entering a period of consolidation and growth. Here are the expectations for the new roster.
Unlike previous roster changes that leaned heavily on blockbuster names, this move signals a focus on sustainable team-building and growth. For Veqaj to maximise his potential, assigning him a clearly defined agent-pool and role within the Fnatic system will be vital. The team appears ready to invest in providing that structure. Although instant championship contention is ambitious, the signing positions Fnatic to contend through the 2026 cycle, with incremental growth rather than overnight turnaround.
While not every signing delivers immediate impact, Fnatic’s decision to bring in Veqaj shows a calculated direction: they are placing trust in a young flexible talent, embedding him in a proven organizational system, and committing to a roster built for both present competition and future potential. If Veqaj adapts to the Tier-1 stage, this move could become a defining part of the next chapter for Fnatic in VALORANT.
