Boaster: “Masters was a sad loss for me… I’d like to beat PRX this time” – EWC VALORANT Interview

Fnatic is maintaining its strong form from Masters Toronto in the EWC VALORANT tournament: we spoke with FNC Boaster after his quarterfinal series against Karmine Corp to see his impressions on the series and the upcoming rematch against Paper Rex.

Hotspawn: First of all, congratulations on beating KC.

What are your thoughts after beating KC, and what do you make of their current level?

Boaster: I think KC is a great team, they prep very hard. They have some really cool ideas, but I just think today, my boys, we just have this kind of aura about us, and we’re just ready to play and ready to win. We feel really confident in our maps and in our playstyle, and everything’s just kind of clicking for us right now. So we play KC, we beat them 2-0. The Sunset was a bit close, but it always felt like we had it in the bag. Yeah, VCT Masters was a- was a sad, sad loss for me. I didn’t play too well.

What did you learn from Masters Toronto that you can take into tomorrow’s Paper Rex rematch?

So I think our players have such hard- like- they were ready for that game, and I believe that playing them again, we’ll be able to get the win this time, especially. They had- like we had no Ascent, we had no, what was the other map we didn’t have? Essentially, Paper Rex had two map bans, which were some of our best maps. And this time we’re on even, even grounds, you know, so, and also we’re well rested. We’re ready to play, so Paper Rex are a really good team, but I’d like to beat them this time.

How have you found the EWC VALORANT event so far?

Yeah. I think it’s because VCT Masters has been going on for like 4 years. EWC has only just started. I mean, it’s the same teams going, if not more, actually, when it comes to comparison to Masters and EWC. It’s just it’s going to take some time to have the same kind of Champions feel, I feel like. But so far the event has been pretty well. So far, the event has been pretty well run. The PCs are good, the sound system’s good. And yeah, we’re having a good time out there on the stage. We just love playing the game and sharing some memories with my boys. So yeah, it was sick.

What’s the best chocolate in a box of Quality Street?

Best chocolate in the box of Quality Street? The Quality Street has changed so much since then. But I think when I was a kid, I used to love the toffee ones. So, either like the penny one, that was a toffee, but I think nowadays I like the long chocolate one with the toffee in.

Have you got a final message for the fans?

Yeah, I met DINO, I met Post Malone, and I met Magnus Carlsen. Fun fact, it was so funny. It was cracking me up yesterday. We were backstage, and I was chilling. I didn’t know what I was doing for the ceremony, but Magnus Carlsen was literally there. And I was like, ‘do I get a picture with him?’ I look over at him, and he’s on his phone playing chess. Like it’s so funny. It cracked me up, I was like ‘should I be watching a VOD?’ But yeah, thank you, everyone, for the support. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it.
