Team comps matter a lot in VALORANT. Having the right mix of agents can make the game easier – site takes feel effortless, and retakes become a little easier when the right utility is played. However, every map has its own unique quirks, sightlines, and playstyles, meaning that each map has its own optimal composition.
Let’s break down the best agent compositions on every map that will make your ranked games easier.
VALORANT Best Team Comps for the Active Map Pool
Here are the team compositions you should try out in the current map rotation.
Lotus
Best comp: Raze, Viper, Fade, Omen, Vyse
Why it works:
Lotus is one of VALORANT’s most complex maps. There are three bomb sites, rotating doors, and tight entryways. Winning on Lotus requires agents that can delay, isolate angles, and enter sites explosively.

Raze is crucial for early fights at Rubble and other tight angles scattered around the map. Her mobility also helps take space quickly on rotates, and she can pass through tight chokepoints by using her Satchels.
Viper can cut sites in half and deny information or retakes with her Wall. Her mollies can stall pushes, and she’s the best agent for a double-controller setup, which is required on this map.
Fade is the best recon agent on Lotus by far. She has numerous Haunt lineups and can clear corners with Prowlers. Her ultimate can isolate the C site entirely for a fast execute, making her extremely valuable.
Omen serves as the flexible controller. His recharging smokes help cover tight entrances multiple times per round, and there are numerous off-angle positions he can teleport to to surprise enemies.
Vyse brings utility denial and powerful stall tools, especially when anchoring the C site. Her abilities slow retakes and execute, and her Wall is invaluable on both defense and offense for detecting flanks.
Sunset
Best comp: Neon, Breach, Sova, Omen, Cypher
Why it works:
Sunset is a map full of tight angles, sudden corners, and brutal chokepoints. Teams work best when they can break through fast and defend smartly.

Neon brings the speed. Her Fast Lane is valuable for carving a path through B Main or Mid, and her Slide allows her to enter sites first. She can also throw out stuns on the many corners this map offers.
Breach stuns and flashes through walls, doing a great job in supporting Neon to explode into sites. His Rolling Thunder is also incredibly effective on this map for initiating on Sunset’s compact sites.
Sova is hands-down the most effective recon agent on Sunset. There are open ceilings, allowing him to offer long-range recon and post-plant value. Additionally, his Owl Drone can clear close corners, allowing Neon to advance into sites.
Omen holds the team together with flexible smokes and a valuable flash. He controls the pace with deep smokes on defense and pressure smokes on attack. There are also several one-way smokes available for him to play around with.
Cypher locks down the flanks and anchors sites (especially B) like no one else. His tripwire setups on B are lethal, and he can use a camera to keep watch of Mid. Let’s not get started with the one-way cages he can use.
Corrode
Best comp: Omen, Viper, Sova, Neon, Chamber
Why it works:
Corrode is still relatively new to the VALORANT map pool, and strategies are evolving as teams continue to figure things out. That said, here’s a decent composition that’s being used in professional play.

Omen provides flexible smokes that help isolate engagements on a map filled with narrow corridors and verticality. He can abuse the high and low grounds with teleport, especially in Corrode’s layered site layouts.
Viper is quickly becoming a staple here on Corrode. Her Toxic Screen is great for splitting the map and blocking vision through chokepoints in heavily congested areas. Her Snakebite delays enemy pushes, especially with the tight entry points on the map.
Sova is key for recon. His darts can clear common hiding spots, and there are a lot of tricky lineups for enemies to deal with. On a new map like Corrode, information is power, and Sova provides that consistently.
Neon thrives in Corrode’s compressed entry points. Her Fast Lane carves paths for the team through the narrow chokes, and her speed allows her to take control of sites. She’s the perfect agent for creating space quickly and keeping defenders on the back foot.
Chamber is a questionable pick at the moment, but he rounds out the comp with strong anchoring and punishing defensive holds. He’s generally effective on a fresh map where players are still experimenting.
Haven
Best comp: Iso, Sova, Yoru, Omen, Cypher
Why it works:
Haven is a three-site layout that rewards fast rotates and strong map reads. It is one of the best maps to have a double-duelist composition.

Iso has quietly become a menace on this map. His Wall is surprisingly good at allowing for clean site takes, and his Uppercut clears tight angles and suppresses defenders. Using an Iso ult can also help isolate a potential lone defender on a site.
Sova is a staple pick here. His recon makes clearing A or C Long safer, and his post-plant value on Haven is undeniable – a must-have on this map.
Yoru is fantastic on Haven. He rotates easily between sites on defense, and his clone/teleport combo can fake out opponents on such a rotation-heavy map.
Omen smokes the map globally, allowing him to smoke A from C, and vice versa. His Paranoia is effective on the offense, and he has lots of elevated angles to teleport to.
Cypher is another iconic agent on Haven, as his setups are effective on any of the three sites. Haven is a map where defenders can go on flanks, and his trips solve the issue relatively well.
Bind
Best comp: Raze, Brimstone, Fade, Viper, Cypher
Why it works:
Bind is a map with teleporters, compact sites, and choke points galore. Comps that can slow the enemy down and break through defenses are ideal.
Raze is arguably the best agent on this map. She can clear points like Hookah, U-Hall, and other tight angles. She can also clear tripwire-based sentinels, and her grenade can go through the teleporter.
Brimstone thrives on Bind. His smokes feel like they linger forever, and his ult and molotov controls post-plant with brutal efficiency. You can’t go wrong with him.
Fade is ideal on Bind over Sova. Her Haunt and Seize can find hidden defenders, and her ult gives you guaranteed space on any site.
Viper is great for double-controller lineups, as she can cut off Elbow and deny pushes using mollies or decays. Her Wall is incredible on both sites, and she has great spots to use her ultimate on both offense and defense.
Cypher is the most effective sentinel on Bind. He can protect flanks from teleport plays, and his tripwire setups are very effective, particularly on the B site.
Icebox
Best comp: Sova, Viper, Harbor/Omen, Jett, Killjoy
Why it works:
Icebox is all about verticality, angles, and tight plants. Comps that can deny space and hold post-plants thrive on this map.
Sova clears vertical angles and long sightlines, which are necessary before entering any bomb site as an attacker. His darts are highly effective on both sites if you target the ceiling, and he works well on post-plants.
Viper is Icebox’s queen. Sites on Icebox are huge, and her Wall is necessary to split the area apart. She also has post-plant utility, and her Viper’s Pit is very effective for denying entry or protecting the Spike.
Harbor or Omen works as secondary controllers. Harbor is great for site waterfalls, while Omen gets value with vertical smokes and elevated angles.
Jett is your ideal duelist on this map. She’s good for Operator control and early picks; she can play off the verticality, and her Cloudburst is valuable for protecting Spike planters.
Killjoy is the best sentinel here. She secures the B site well, and her alarmbot is great for detecting presence around the Kitchen area or flanks. Her ult covers the entirety of both sites, and she can play post-plant setups very well.
Ascent
Best comp: Jett, Sova, KAY/O, Cypher, Omen
Why it works:
Ascent is heavily reliant on Mid control, consider how large the area is. Site execution is also important, since it’s one of the most defender-sided maps in the pool.

Jett dominates mid with her mobility and Operator potential. She’s also your go-to for quick A or B bursts, and she can play many off-angles on defense.
Sova is a key piece to any lineup on Ascent. He can clear Mid and back-site with recon, and his Owl Drone helps Jett find the best way to enter a site. His utility is very effective in post-plants, as he can shoot arrows through holes from A and B Main.
KAY/O is an absolute monster on Ascent. He has easy knife lineups on defense, and can suppress sentinel utility on the offense. His flashes and grenades are very valuable on this map.
Killjoy has strong site setups on both sites, especially when anchoring B. Her turret and Alarmbot control flanks effectively on the offense, and her Lockdown ultimate is extremely powerful for retakes or post-plants.
Omen provides the essential smokes for taking site or faking pressure. His flash helps with entry clears since the map has a lot of tight alleyways, and his teleport allows him to make individual plays through unexpected repositioning.
