The first team to represent the Philippines in the upcoming MSC 2025 x EWC in Riyadh is none other than the current reigning MPL and world champion, ONIC Philippines (ONIC PH). After an unexpected outcome of ONIC PH sweeping the top seed of this season, Team Liquid PH (TLPH), they are now on their way to defend both of their titles.
Today’s games were surprisingly different than the first two days having both ONIC Philippines and Team Falcons sweep their opponents. With day 1 and day 2 of MPL PH S15 Playoffs having full 10 games from the two matches played, everybody was prepared for another full 10 games but ONIC Philippines and Team Falcons had other plans for us.
Almost every talent predicted for Team Liquid PH to win as well as the game going the distance but with ONIC PH’s perfect execution, there’s no more room for doubt that they are the world’s current strongest.
Both ONIC PH and Team Liquid PH had all the momentum going in this match as they begin with a meta draft but this time, ONIC PH chose to pick Baxia early to confuse TLPH on where it would be put for its role. It was an effective diversion as they “snowballed” through each team fight and neutral objective, without letting TLPH breathe a single time. The game was too one-sided, leaving ONIC PH to lead the series 1-0.
Now the next game was much more equal as both teams were on equal footing with their compositions and team fight potential. Both teams wanted a front to back team fight with their assassins ready to pick off members who had an error in their positioning. It took a good team fight and a separate 1v1 among the star junglers K1NGKONG from ONIC PH and KarlTzy from TLPH to open up the game into ONIC PH’s favor. K1NGKONG’s Hayabusa outplayed KarlTzy’s Joy with a clean ult since there’s nobody to save the Joy from taking all of Hayabusa’s hits. With that play, ONIC PH got the neutral objective and eventually ended the game, getting match point for the series.
TLPH was not ready for ONIC PH’s surprise in their draft as they picked a pocket Angela for all of their other heroes to work with. TLPH couldn’t contest in any neutral objective or even try to pick off any solo heroes on the map as the Angela would immediately use it’s ult to save the player from being ganked and immediately turn on them to win the team fight. Everything the draft wanted from ONIC PH worked successfully, winning them the series and moving on to the Grand Finals.
This also marks them as the first representative of Philippines for the upcoming MSC 2025 x EWC in Riyadh this July. They only need this tournament win to complete a year round of winning both the international titles of the official MLBB esports tournaments.
Now the series that came after was a do or die for both teams who were put down the lower bracket by the two teams who competed in the first match. Both have international experience and are deserving for the spot to go to the next round. Another unexpected result happened as people were expecting a full 5 game series but Team Falcons wasn’t messing around today. After losing yesterday with a reverse sweep, they came in to this match with a much more stable mentality.
It was unusual for teams to let the hero Fanny and Chip go unbanned in the draft but Team Falcons let Fanny and even Chip go for Aurora Gaming to pick them. Obviously the team had a plan if they’re letting go such a hero but they didn’t have any answers during the early to mid game. Aurora Gaming was dominating every single team fight and neutral objective, which made the game quite difficult for Team Falcons. It only took one turn from KyleTzy’s Lukas and Super Marco’s Moskov for them to get the tides turning in their favor when they saw Aurora Gaming overextending. The game was eventually won by Team Falcons, leading the series 1-0

The 2nd game was much more equal and their drafts had their comforts and meta mixed together. Both teams were on equal footing going to the first lord of the game, and whoever got the lord would have the advantage. Team Falcons had other plans though. After securing the lord take, they wiped out the entire Aurora Gaming squad, surprising everyone going straight to the throne to end the game. No one expected this as they haven’t taken any turrets except for the outer one on the bottom. With that quick wit of deciding to end, Team Falcons is now on match point.
Aurora Gaming this time tried to corner Team Falcons by picking Lukas for their EXP lane while having Baxia go to jungle. There weren’t any more jungle heroes to pick for KyleTzy but we are once again caught by surprise with his pocket pick, Lancelot, a signature of his ages ago. Aurora were downright winning this time from early to mid, making it difficult for Team Falcons to find an opportunity to get back in the game. The first lord take was nothing but phenomenal from the duo of KyleTzy and Owgwen, still attempting to contest even if they were 3 players down. They had an amazing play against 5 players, with Owgwen pinning down the carries, Domengkite and Yue, for KyleTzy to finish them off. This turned the game on its head once again, giving Team Falcons the first lord, and eventually snowballing to the end.

Team Falcons now move on to face their opponents yesterday for the last spot in the Grand Finals of MPL PH S15 as well as a spot in MSC 2025 x EWC in Riyadh.
The MPL PH S15 is coming to a close as we have 2 Best of 7’s left to determine the final spot for MSC 2025 x EWC as well as the champions for this season. We will have Team Liquid PH vs Team Falcons first tomorrow at 5:00 PM GMT+8 to determine the last representative of the Philippines, and the opponent of the defending champions ONIC Philippines, on August 1, 2025.
