Selangor Red Giants owner, Simon Mason Lim, has dropped a hint on his recent business venture possibly revealing a big signing with another international esports organization. Fans are very curious which esports orgs would partner with the current Mid Season Cup 2024 Champions back in Riyadh. Here’s 5 orgs we think that can possibly collaborate with SRG.

Selangor Red Giants Owner Hints at New Esports Org Collaboration

Simon dropped major hints on his Instagram story with his recent deal in preparation for Esports World Cup but the clue everyone’s eyeing on is when he said: “Let’s just say it’s all about Blue and White!” That cuts down a lot of orgs who represent the colors Blue and White. Coming from a selection of teams that performed well in Esports World Cup, as well as looking at the games they participated in, we’ve narrowed down the list into 5 different esports organizations we think SRG is collaborating with.

1. Team Liquid

First on the list is Team Liquid. It is a high possibility Team Liquid could also acquire the strongest team in Malaysia, thereby having all 3 strongest regions in MLBB try to enter MSC x EWC 2025 in Riyadh. Since SRG won last year’s event, they gathered 1000 club points for their own org but it was kind of a waste since they only had MLBB for their participation. If Team Liquid acquired SRG before, they would get the points instead so it makes sense to acquire the team to get first place in the overall standings. Imagine having Team Liquid Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia getting Top 3 for just MLBB.

2. OG

There was one team interested to actually join MPL Malaysia last year and that is OG. They were seemingly very interested in entering the MLBB scene, and what better way to acquire or collaborate with the current champions, SRG. We’ve got to take OG’s colors into consideration too, which perfectly matches Simon’s clues, similar to Team Liquid. It is a high possibility that they can also be the team Simon was referring to since Team Liquid acquired their two teams on PH and ID as a direct deal on one esports org before called Aura Fire. SRG is a different entity, which means Team Liquid must make a completely different deal to acquire SRG. It’s no secret that OG are struggling in other games like Dota 2 right now so an expansion would make sense.

3. Aurora Gaming

There is still a chance that Aurora Gaming can also be considered as the organization Simon is referring to since he didn’t specify about the shade of blue. Aurora Gaming recently acquired a Turkish powerhouse, leading to Snapdragon Mobile Masters in Jakarta, to test out their level among the strongest teams in the world. Aurora Gaming has currently two rosters, one in the Philippines, and the recently acquired one in Turkey. If they want to catch up to the club points and have the similar strategy of Team Falcons and Team Liquid, the more teams to enter, the higher the chance of winning the entire Esports World Cup.

4. Cloud 9

Cloud 9 is still a possibility because of its colors and they have entered the MLBB scene last year with a North American team. They are mainly focusing their attention to the rosters they currently have on their respective games but might add MLBB to their arsenal as one of their powerhouses, Cloud9 Valorant and League of Legends might succeed to enter EWC. Winning around 2-3 games in EWC puts them in a stable position as they would immediately level themselves to the top 3, judging from last year’s results.

5. EVOS

This is probably the lowest chance to be collaborated can still be considered since EVOS has 3 teams representing them in EWC. A South East Asian brand can try and invest to win the overall Esports World Cup competition if they won all of their participating games. EVOS also collaborated with Philippines before when they introduced the franchise league so it’s not unusual for them to try and enter the Malaysian scene, which is growing their community exponentially.

All in all, everybody’s excited for SRG to collaborate or be acquired by another esports giant before they enter as the defending champions of MSC x EWC. A lot of big organizations are starting to recognize Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as another esports title to invest on. It is truly an exciting time to be an MLBB fan as well as the current mainstream games that esports orgs have established their names with. Tune in to Selangor Red Giants’ socials as they will unveil this secret on March 17, 2025.
