We have now determined our final 2 for the Grand Finals of ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters 2025 and the results for both civil wars are in. In the first match of PH vs PH, Team Falcons took the first game out of ONIC Philippines but ONIC adapted easily, sweeping the entire series afterwards. On the other side of the bracket, ID vs ID was happening and the same exact thing happened where Team Liquid ID took the first game while RRQ Hoshi swept through the entire series. ONIC Philippines and RRQ Hoshi are set to match up against each other tomorrow for the Grand Finals at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia.
During the first semi finals of SPS Mobile Masters, Team Falcons and ONIC PH matched up to determine the first finalist of the tournament. The first game was surprising for ONIC as they were faced with an unfamiliar draft where they picked Fredrinn for jungle, as well as Wanwan for gold lane.
These two heroes have barely seen the light of day in the last 2 years of pro play. The following game, ONIC PH adjusted to the draft, even banning Fredrinn on the second phase to block Team Falcons’ plans. The second game was shifting leads left to right until the most crucial pickoff on Super Marco happened. The remaining two games were pretty much ONIC Philippines dominating from early to late game, getting them to the finals first.
With ONIC PH being the first team to advance to the finals, it was the civil war between Team Liquid ID and RRQ Hoshi next in line to determine the second finalist. During the first game of the Indonesian civil war, all picks were pretty normal, with Team Liquid ID even giving Fanny to RRQ Hoshi’s jungler, Sutsujin. That didn’t stop Faviannn from dominating with his Joy to give Team Liquid ID the first score of the series.
During the next game, Team Liquid ID had the early game down, having a 5 kill score advantage as well as a bit of a gold lead after the final turtle. It was during the the moment before the Lord spawned that they thought they had an easy pick-off on RRQ Hoshi’s Roamer, Idok, but it turned around quickly when all of the Kingdom swarmed in to save their Roamer. Things went downhill for Team Liquid from that point and they couldn’t recover from the loss. It even continued to the next two games of the series where Team Liquid ID just didn’t have an answer to RRQ Hoshi’s dominance, giving RRQ a shot against the current world champions moving forward.
After ONIC Philippines won their match against Team Falcons, the Filipino Snapdragon talents had a post game interview with ONIC PH’s Gold Laner and FMVP of the world, Kelra. He had some interesting comments for the talents on tomorrow’s match up with ONIC PH and his current teammates:
Brigida: How are you guys feeling even if that was PH vs PH? What do you feel now?
Kelra: Of course I’m happy first and foremost since I get to go to the Grand Finals. I’m happy but sad since we won’t have a PH vs PH Grand Finals. The PH vs PH won’t be fulfilled so I’m happy but sad.
Midnight: RRQ are your opponents tomorrow, and you just came from beating Team Falcons. Team Falcons prepared for you guys, they showed some new strats. How about ONIC PH? Do you guys still have anything prepared or you personally?
Kelra: “Nothing. We don’t have anything prepared. We only have each other” (“Wala. Wala kaming baon. Ano lang. Ang baon lang naming yung isa’t isa.”)
Kelra also agreed afterwards with KyleTzy’s statement that whoever will win in the PH vs PH matchup will become the champions for SPS Mobile Masters 2025.
The current world champions, ONIC PH, will now face the undefeated RRQ Hoshi, tomorrow, April 13, 2025, 4:00 PM GMT+7 for the title. This is the second installation of the rivalry between Philippines and Indonesia in Snapdragon Pro Series after ONIC PH swept through ONIC in the APAC Challengers Finals in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Will ONIC PH still remain as the best team in the world or will RRQ Hoshi continue their undefeated streak, even taking out the current champions in the world?
