Virtus.pro and Rare Atom Make the Knockouts in MSC Wildcard Day 2

As MSC Wildcard Day 2 concludes, we have 2 teams advancing to the cross-group knockouts and 2 more bowing out entirely. This is everything that’s happened in MSC Wildcard Day 2.

Rare Atom vs. Legion Esports

At the start of game 1, Legion Esports controlled the pace of the game, pressuring Rare Atom to respond. It only took 2 moments of miscommunication and playing separately from Legion Esports for the game to end. The first one was mid-game, where the lead changed, and the other at the last clash before Rare Atom took the first point. Game 2 had a Lukas, the first ever for MSC since his nerf, but as an EXP laner. Rare Atom snowballed going towards the first lord, even ending the game with a 2-0 sweep swiftly.

Team Falcons vs. The MongolZ

Team Falcons was still considered to be the favorite to advance to the playoffs despite being beaten by Legion Esports, but the unthinkable happened.

The MongolZ suddenly showed their efforts to become known on the international stage with a clean 2-0 against Team Falcons. Both MSC Day 2 Wildcard games were quick, ending in 13-14 mins after the first lord take. The first team to be eliminated in MSC 2025 was the favorites, Team Falcons.

INFLUENCE RAGE vs. Virtus.pro

This had to be the match highlight of the day, as both the EECA and LATAM teams are the most developed regions playing. This match did not disappoint. Game 1 had the fastest game ever in this year’s wildcard, ending under 10 mins in favor of Virtus.pro.

The surprise Kadita pick by Chan didn’t work for game 1, but INFLUENCE RAGE’s Zhu Xin Angela combo was unbeatable coming to game 2. Chan even scored the first ever Savage in this year’s MSC during this game. Virtus.pro had to ban Chan’s Zhu Xin in game 3, as it created a lot of problems in the previous game. Virtus.pro was more composed with their team fights in game 3, letting them advance to the knockout stage after MSC Wildcard Day 2.

ZETA DIVISION vs. Nightmare Esports

Two emerging regions had their last chance to prove themselves to be worthy of the international stage. All 3 games of their match had 19 minutes of back-and-forth leads from intense clashes in which nobody knew who would come out on top. Niightmare Esports took game 1 from IDID’s Pharsa, dishing out massive damage across ZETA’s roster. Games 2 and 3, on the other hand, were very close, with Niightmare almost always close to finishing it out, but the resiliency of the Japanese squad paid off, giving them another opportunity to advance to the next stage.

The next day of MSC 2025 Wildcard will be on July 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM GMT+3. The winners of the first 2 matches will advance to the knockout stage of the wild card. The winners will face off against Virtus.pro and Rare Atom, who won their groups with a 2-0 score.

The matches will happen on the same day to determine the Grand Finalists for July 13, 2025. Who will advance to the next stage to face the Top 15 teams waiting in the Group stage of MSC 2025 in EWC?
