Riot Games has confirmed a new champion will be hitting Wild Rift in 2026 and it’s currently seems to be exclusive to the mobile version. Here’s what we know so far.
The announcement, which came through a social media post, unveiled that the champion is expected to be released sometime in 2026. Some members of the community have speculated the champion to be Norra, a character currently played in Legends of Runeterra (LoR), and considered as Yuumi’s master.
The mid lane mage seems to be on her way and the planned release seems to be on the 7.0 update, alongside several other champions, as Riot Games continues to bring more champs from the PC version. It’s not confirmed, however, if Norra will ever be added to League of Legends.
Norra is a Yordle champion from Bandle City who is specialized in using portal magic, which were also used by Yuumi. In the lore, the support champion has been actively searching for her master, thus explaining Norra’s addition to the game.
That being said, little details are given on the champion’s kit and whether the release will be arriving on the PC version. According to a Reddit user, the exclusive release on the mobile version isn’t an issue, but it would be “weird” if the champion was never brought to League of Legends.
One user stated that releasing champions in Wild Rift can be positive since it gives them a way to test run new champion designs before putting them in the PC version, causing greater game balancing issues. Another user said to not be surprised if Wild Rift becomes the guinea ping for champions, considering several improvement and gameplay adjustments, including WASD and seasonal objectives, were implemented in the game before its desktop counterpart.
