After locking the qualification to the League of Legends World Championship 2025 Swiss stage, we talked to T1 Oner to hear his thoughts on the series, getting to see the Great Wall, and which Western team he’s expecting to perform well at the tournament.

Davide: Can you tell us a little bit more about your impressions on the match?

Did you expect this form from IG and how do you think the enemy jungler Wei performed?

Oner: It was really fun to face Wei again. Since this was our first match, we focused on getting a feel for the stage early on. I think we spent the first game adjusting our sense of the game. In the second game, we were playing better, but our draft didn’t go so smoothly, so we lost. By the third and fourth games, we’d fully adapted, and I think we played well overall. I’m satisfied with our performance.

Davide: I want to ask about the third game because we saw IG going for the Varus top pick.

Did you decide to move Ashe to the top lane during champ select? Was it something that you guys were expecting to happen?

Oner: We knew TheShy is very good at playing Varus top, so we expected it. When we saw the draft unfold, we realized that swapping lanes would give us the advantage, so we agreed on the swap from the start, and it worked out just as planned.

Davide: I saw the team’s pictures were taken on the Great Wall.

How was the scenery? Did you get to walk it a little bit? Do you want to walk it?

Oner: Yes, we walked all the way up to the top for the teaser shoot. It was really tiring climbing up, but once we got there, the view was amazing, and I thought it was worth it.

Davide: I’ve been asking players here at the championship their top five. I want to make it a little bit more challenging for you. I just want one name.

Give me one name on who do you think is the best?

Oner: I think everyone would have their own opinion, but rather than picking someone else, I’d choose myself. The reason is that we won Worlds last year, and I think I’ve been playing very well this year too, so I’d say me.

You guys have been playing together for many years so far. Aside from Doran, yourself, Faker, Keria, and Gumayusi have never finished below the top 4 at Worlds.

Which team do you think poses as the biggest threat at this World Championship?

Oner: Honestly, I don’t think there’s any particular team that feels like a threat. I think we ourselves are the biggest variable. As long as we manage our condition and focus well, I believe we can keep up our strong results and continue the record.

Which LEC team or Western team do you think has the highest chance of doing a deep run this year at Worlds?

Oner: [It’s] probably FlyQuest. They were strong last year, and I think they’re one of the best Western teams right now, so I expect them to perform well.

Editor’s note: For the next question, Oner didn’t appear in the video, I mistakenly considered this artwork as part of the MV.

Davide: What are your thoughts on the Worlds song? I also saw that you appeared in a music video.

What does this mean to you? And did you like it?

Oner: I haven’t listened to it yet. And from what I heard, I wasn’t even in the music video, so.. I don’t think it’s that meaningful, but it’s nice to appear in something that I can look back on later as a fun memory. Even if I didn’t appear, it’s no big deal — I could just skip it that year (laughs).

There are a lot of T1 fans here. Did you happen to see the personalized bus?

Oner: Yeah, actually we actually ran into that bus inside when we were just passing by. So I was really grateful that, you know, to see such a big love and support coming from the fans.

Last message to the fans, in English, if possible!

Oner: Okay, thank you!.
