KT Cuzz: “If we can come up with our best potential, we can even win Worlds.”

Ahead of the start of the League of Legends World Championship Swiss stage, we exchanged a few words with jungler KT Cuzz as he and his team will want to break the bad luck from Worlds 2023.

First of all, welcome. How are you doing?

Cuzz: I’m feeling great. When I woke up this morning, it felt great so I’m doing amazing.

Can you kind of walk me through how KT prepared ahead of Worlds?

Cuzz: I couldn’t actually prepare as much as I kind of thought, but still, I think our team managed to find the answer throughout our regular split and playoffs experience. So I wish we can just bring everything we have during the world’s journey.

Davide: KT has had ups and downs during the season and we know that KT is also a more volatile team than the other top three LCK teams.

Why do you this happens more [often] than the other teams?

Cuzz: First off, our coaching staff, they always come with the best drafting possible. And then Bdd, he’s great at playmaking. I think he’s excellent in that area. So we can kind of use that as our strength and keep the snowball going. And also as our experience kind of stacked up, our objective team fighting has become a lot better. So we managed to pick up more wins.

Davide: Regarding jungle-mid duos, we can consider them as a key to teams performances this season. And it’s unquestionable that you and Bdd are core members of this KT roster.

Where do you think you stand among the jungle-mid duos here at Worlds?

Cuzz: I can’t really like give you a specific number in terms of the standings, but if we can kind of come up with our best potential, we can even win Worlds.

Top five Junglers at Worlds and then also the reasons why ranked in that order

Cuzz: Honestly, top five is a lot for me, but I’ve been catching up with the other region matches throughout the season as well, especially for the first and second place teams. And [out] all of the junglers on these teams are so good. I learned a lot from them. So I would say top junglers are going to be the junglers from the first seed teams from each region.

Davide: I saw a clip of you that you said on stream that basically you were feeling bad because you couldn’t cry like BDD when you guys beat Gen.G.

Can you picture me, like, what would be the ideal situation for you to have that emotional moment here at Worlds?

Cuzz: I mean, whenever such a big moment happens to me. I always get this surge of emotions, but for me, happiness is a little bigger. Like it’s like a dominant feeling that’s happening inside my mind. So it’s more like I’m being really flustered and also everything feels surreal and I’m really happy. So I just tend to smile and smile and laugh. So if I say if we can actually win Worlds, I don’t think I’m gonna cry because I tend to kind of laugh and smile a lot.

Davide: The last question is about KT’s luck at Worlds. Last time you came here with KT, it was 2023 and you were considered one of the unlucky teams due to the draws in the switch stage,

Do you believe in luck? Are you superstitious? Do you have pre-match rituals and stuff like that?

Cuzz: Yeah, I mean, like we were the unlucky team in 2023. So I was thinking, is it because I was watching. So this time, whenever the draw is going to happen, I’m not going to watch it.
