Worlds 2025 action continued to heat up as KT Rolster took on CTBC Flying Oyster in the second quarterfinals of the tournament. As the first LCP representative to make it to the Knockout stage in over 10 years, CFO’s impressive tournament run on the Swiss stage earned them much hype behind them. However, the LCK 3rd seed seemed to be a wall insurmountable for the underdogs, as a 3-0 victory from KT knocked CFO out of the tournament. With this victory, they’ll now face Gen.G in the semifinals as a series victory will mark the final step towards the coveted Summoner’s Cup.

For KT, this quarterfinal victory marked a historical moment in the organization’s legacy. Despite the organization’s long history, Worlds 2025 marked the first time that the team has ever made it past the round of 8. The community especially praised KT’s Support, Jeong “Peter” Yoon-su, as the young rookie not only awed his audience with his stellar in-game performance, his bubbly energy quickly turned him into a fan favorite.
They’ve also become the fourth team in Worlds history to remain undefeated after the quarterfinals. An interesting trend that the community noted was that all the previous record holders have made it to the finals. As KT are one of the few teams to beat Gen.G in a best of 5 series in 2025, fans looked forward to a potential upset in the upcoming match. Or as they say, they finally got excited about KT.
