Early in the LCK Stove League, the three time World Champion Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung announced that he will be leaving T1 after seven long years with the organization. His FA status was followed by widespread rumors of Gumayusi’s next destination being Hanwha Life Esports; the organization announced that he has officially joined the team at HLE’s Camp One, under a two-year contract.

Gumayusi Joins Hanwha Life Esports to complete 2026 roster

Gumayusi’s goal has always been to be the best in the world

“Now, I’ll be leaving T1 to start a new journey to prove myself”. These were the final words that Gumayusi shared before leaving T1. For the three time World Champion, his goal has been nothing to be the best. From being benched early in the season, consistent orchestrated harassment against the player by a cult-like online group to becoming the Finals MVP at Worlds 25, Gumayusi has achieved accolades in his career that many aspire to follow, all at just 23 years old.

Leaving a place that’s been so familiar and close is honestly really tough, and stepping into something new comes with pressure. But as long as there are fans who believe in me, I won’t stop.” – Gumayusi, in his exit interview with T1.

The HLE Superteam is complete

With this final acquisition by HLE, their 2026 superteam roster is complete. Gumayusi reunites with his former ex-T1 teammate, Choi “Zeus” Woo-je; with Kim “Zeka” Gun-woo & Yoo “Delight Hwan-joong re-signing and Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok returning to the LCK to join HLE, the dream roster is ready to give T1 and Gen.G a run for their money. In joining HLE, Gumayusi shared, “The direction HLE wanted to go perfectly aligned with my personal goals… I’m aware of the immense pressure that comes with filling the shoes of Park ‘Viper’ Do-hyeon, and I’ll do my best to lead the team into victory, and to be recognized for my prowess.”

Fans are already salivating at the matchup between HLE and T1 in particular, as the matchup will entail Gumayusi facing off against his former bot duo, Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, as well as Delight doing the same against Kim “Peyz” Soo-hwan.
