DN FREECS rebrands to DN SOOPers ahead of 2026 LCK season

DN SOOPers will have the DNS tricode

The name change comes from an attempt to reshape the brand identity around the streaming service SOOP. Previously known as AfreecaTV, the company behind the esports team is looking to integrate the team brand with the SOOP platform, and therefore will have its tricode change from ‘DNF’ to ‘DNS’. The uniforms and merchandise will also be modified to reflect the logo rebranding.

SOOP is known for heavily expanding over the past few years in the esports space. It was recently involved in a major broadcasting deal with the LCK alongside Naver and has also run its own competition, including the SOOP VALORANT League.

According to reports from Korean media, the company also changed its esports corporate name to SOOP Esports Co., Ltd. in line with the team’s renaming, and appointed Kim Seong-han as its new CEO, who previously served as the general manager of DN SOOPers.

DN SOOPers not only operates in the League of Legends ecosystem but also fields teams across PUBG Battlegrounds, FGC titles, TCG, and FC. In particular, the team has had great success in the fighting games, winning back-to-back EWC titles in 2024 and 2025.

The 2026 LCK roster for DN SOOPers will be:

  • Top: Lee ‘Dudu‘ Dong-ju
  • Jungle: Hong ‘Pyosik‘ Chang-hyeon
  • Mid: Lee ‘Clozer‘ Ju-hyeon
  • ADC: Seo ‘deokdam‘ Dae-gil
  • Support: Kim ‘Life‘ Jeong-min and Jeong ‘Peter‘ Yoon-su
  • Head coach: Ju ‘oDin‘ Yeong-dal
