Mid lane used to be the primary carry role in League of Legends, scaling into a major damage dealer by collecting the majority of the resources. Over the years, however, the mid lane role lost a bit of its carry potential in favor of putting more emphasis on coordinating with the rest of the team to capture key objectives or make proactive plays.
That said, knowing which are the champions to play in each patch is key to climbing the ladder. To help you out, we have listed the best mid laners in Patch 25.18, explaining why they are worth picking up. Here is our mid lane tier list.
The best pick in the mid lane meta are LeBlanc and Qiyana. The AD assassin champion is holding strong despite the slight nerfs from this patch while LeBlanc is starting to take control of solo queue thanks to her mobility. Additionally, she is getting more buffs in the coming patch.
I would probably suggest players go for Malzahar or Syndra. The former has great late-game scaling and a powerful ultimate that can will always bring value. Syndra, on the other hand, is perfect for shutting down squishy carries and is an all-around champion that fares well in most matchups.
Most mid lane champions have good carry potential in this patch, but three champions stand out from the rest: Qiyana, Kassadin, and LeBlanc. Qiyana and LeBlanc have great snowball potential and the needed burst damage to assassinate key targets. Kassadin, on the other hand, becomes unstoppable once he gets his items and levels.
