The new Fortnite has all the new features we’d expect but there’s some strange ones that players likely didn’t think were coming. One of these is the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite. It’s something that’s borderline an easter egg in the game, but set up in such a way that players can’t help but wonder what’s inside. It’s one of the odder inclusions.

It’s a new mechanic for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 which borders on an easter egg. It requires players to wait… and wait… and wait. You do eventually get a reward though! Is it quite good enough to warrant all of that patience? Probably not. It is a completely unique loot location though.
In terms of what you get, it’s up there with rare chests and vaults! Although, the prize to pay is much higher, and duller. It’s definitely worth checking it out at least once. Even if you don’t quite manage to open the Suitcase of Patience. This is how the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite works and where you can find it:
Where is the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite?
If you want to track down the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite, it’s fairly easy to find. It’s located in a small unmarked building. Not even in a landmark, just a random spot. One of those single buildings that are in the open, but without much specific about them. This one is located here, just north of Foxy Floodgates.

The location is convenient since it means you’ll be able to rely on a storm circle or two to stop you dying. Given the Patience involved here, you’re going to need to pull the zone. It probably isn’t worth using it as a landing spot since this is the only thing here though.
Once around here, you’ll find the Suitcase of Patience on the ground. It doesn’t resemble a chest or anything you’d normally loot. However, you can get some good items out of it.
What is the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite?
The Suitcase of Patience is something you can find on the floor of this building. It’s an interactable suitcase. Kind of like the quest items you’ll sometimes need to interact with. You can walk up to it and use the open button if you want to start cracking it. However, there is a cost.
There’s going to be ten minutes to open it up. Ten solid minutes of holding the interact button. The timer appears similar to the normal ones. However, it’ll take forever to progress. 10 minutes is a really long time in a Fortnite game. You’ll likely have to hope for a good storm circle. Not to mention other players coming to marvel at the game’s single biggest waste of time!
If you get interrupted, you have to start again. It’s closest to the safes that were in the game in the past. Interruption re-starts the timer, you can’t just break things around it if you want it to open quickly either. Your only choice is a full interrupted 10 minutes. Kind of like when you’re using one of XP grinding maps in Fortnite to level up quickly. You better hope nobody else comes to grab it, since they can easily ruin your game.
What do you get If you can actually crack open the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite? It’s essentially a rare chest or one of the other high end loot rewards. You’ll get some of the best Fortnite weapons, plus things like Boons. It’s obviously a major reward. However, is it remotely worth cracking open?
Is it Worth Using?
Probably not.

It’s a waste of time. You do get good rewards, but in the time, it takes to open it up, you could have easily gotten these great items yourself through easier means. It just isn’t worthwhile. There’s only one real reason to bother. Doing it once, for the fun of it.
In this case, if you really want it open… then it’s best to do it in one of the team games. That way, your squadmates can keep an eye on you. On top of that, the full Trio or Squad gets to say they’ve cracked it open and doesn’t have to bother again. Then you can probably skip the Suitcase of Patience in Fortnite after that game.
It’s not like we’re going to see the best Fortnite players hot dropping each other in tournaments to grab the Suitcase of Patience! The reward is nice but it’s clearly meant more as a joke than anything else, not a proper loot strategy for players looking to win.
