Season 5 of Wallachia is scheduled for the 18th to 29th of June, meaning the tournament will last just shy of two weeks. 

Similar to the previous seasons, PGL Wallachia Season 5 will continue using its tried and tested format:

• Group Stage: The Group Stage will feature the Swiss system. Teams will keep playing Best of 3 matches until they either win three or lose three – whichever comes first. In this format, teams will only play against others that have identical scores. 
• Playoffs: The PGL Wallachia Season 5 Playoffs will use the typical double-elimination format. All teams begin in the Upper Bracket, and have two chances before they’re eliminated. All matches are played in Best of 3 format, except for the Grand Final, which is Best of 5.

How Can Teams Make It To The Event?

Judging from past seasons, PGL directly invites anywhere from 9 to 11 teams. These invited teams are generally the best Dota 2 teams, ensuring we’ll be treated to some top tier Dota.

The remaining slots are allocated to regional qualifiers, including the primary regions, which are: WEU, EEU, SEA, China, and the Americas.
